One of the big parts of my lactation visits besides the actual help with breastfeeding difficulties, is helping parents to learn to take care of their new baby, to understand baby's behavior and to start learning healthy parenting practices and attitudes. I see it as just as important part of my work as lactation consulting itself. Pandemics or not, life goes on, babies are born and moms need help figuring out their first steps in the parenting life, in establishing breastfeeding and making sure their babies thrive. I am honored to be there for mothers and provide the best care that I can. On the photo is a weight check for a 2 day old little man during the lactation support home visit.

In current situation more and more pregnant families, especially those already in midwifery care, give a thought to the idea of a home birth.
