HAPPY UPDATE FROM FINDER Sept 21, 2019 : Kitty and owner reunited.. kitty is indoor only, had snuck out yesterday and lives close by. Found in Brighton (Royal... Gala Dr near Hwy #2/Ontario St), Sept 21, 2109 ... female, declawed. Dog friendly. Safe until owners found. Noticed by my neighbour last night, but when offered food, she turned around and sauntered away. I have a feeling she's been under our deck for a few days (at least) as my coonhound has been obsessing with the deck. She snuck in to my house this morning underneath the dog's legs as bold as brass. She wolfed down some wet food this morning (at around 5:30) and then had some dry around 7 . she seems in good shape, I'd estimate she's a bit older. She was demanding to be let inside our neighbours last night--almost desperate, and same thing this morning. 613-848-7202 https://www.facebook.com/joanne.molesky

Happy Labour Day Weekend - Fireworks warning A reminder, this long weekend there will be various summer celebrations and fireworks will be part of the celebrat...ions. Fireworks are not well liked by cats or dogs and not uncommon for them to run when fireworks are set off. Please keep your pets safe inside commencing Friday night with early celebrations which will continue to Monday. Team Chelsea has historically had an increase in missing dogs during these specific celebrations due to fireworks and pets who are normally calm and not fearful, have escaped. Let's keep our pets safe! 1. Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise earlier in the day. 2. Keep your dogs inside during fireworks, preferably with human companionship. If it’s hot, air conditioning will help. Bringing your dogs to a fireworks display is never a good idea. Provide a safe place inside for your dogs to retreat. When scared of sounds they can’t orient, dogs often prefer small enclosed areas. (I once had a dog who climbed in the bathtub during windstorms.) If your dog is comfortable in a crate, that is a good option. If possible, keep the windows and curtains closed. Covering the crate or lowering the blinds can also be helpful. Basements are also a good place for pets during firework celebrations. Use of music and television are good distractions, and may need to be turned up just a bit, to lesson the noise of the fireworks. 3. Make sure all your dogs are wearing ID tags with a properly fitting collar. I highly recommend harnesses to keep pets safe and reduce the ability of getting out of their harness. Also recommend keeping your dog secure on a leash. 4. Leave your dog something fun to do like a frozen Kong filled with his favorite treats. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Labour Day long weekend. Let's keep our families safe, fur babies and all!
