Happy to announce beach and playground access is permitted on condition that guidelines set by the SK government are followed. People exhibiting signs of illness should not enter Brightsand lake Regional Park. If you think you may be sick, use the Government of Saskatchewan's self-assessment tool for COVID-19 and follow the subsequent directions. Individuals from different groups must maintain a physical distance of two metres outdoors, on the playground, beach and in the... water. Towels and beach gear should be set up with four metres between groups to allow physical distancing to be maintained for those entering or exiting the area. There must be no more individuals per group than allowed under the private and public gathering restrictions. Individuals should wash their hands before and after using parks and playgrounds. Towels, beach toys, food and other items should not be shared between members of different groups. Bring your own picnic table covers, hand hygiene supplies and other personal items. Please stay save and enjoy the summer weather! :)

The Brightsand Lake Regional Park Authority has put in place the following campground operation conditions that are required as part of the SK provincial COVID-19 response. All conditions must be adhered to. If infractions occur, lease or reservations may be cancelled. Long-term seasonal leases are allowed to arrive June 1st, 2020 noon CST. Starting June 15, 2020 noon CST overnight stays and limited-term campers are allowed to arrive.... ALL CAMPERS, including long-term seasonal, overnight stay and limited-term campers will be allowed under the following conditions: Only Saskatchewan residents will be admitted to camp. No out of province recreational vehicles will be permitted to enter Brightsand Lake Regional Park Reservations must be accepted and paid for in advance. Cash will NOT be accepted. No group campsites/reservations permitted. Double sites may not be booked. No groups larger than ten, unless the SK provincial restrictions change. Campers must use bathroom facilities in their trailers or recreational vehicles, there are NO public bathrooms. All other common water sources are closed. Water sources (taps) are LIMITED. All shared facilities will be closed including showers, laundry facilities, cookhouses, clubhouses, and firewood distribution centres. Firewood is available for purchase and will be delivered. All recreational facilities must remain closed including beach, shared shoreline access, picnic areas, playgrounds, and mini golf; however, boats may be launched as long as physical distancing requirements are strictly observed. All community events have been cancelled. All public services, including swimming lessons, children's programming, and community-based programming, have been cancelled. All public health advisories will be enforced. Concession will be operational for take out only. These restrictions have been put in place for the safety of the community and staff. We hope everyone has a safe and happy summer. If you are not able to visit this season, we implore you to experience other campgrounds in your area and we will be here for you for future seasons. We are all excited to get to our campground and lakes now that the beautiful weather has arrived. Brightsand Lake Regional Park will be opening for the 2020 season under the guidelines set out by the Saskatchewan Government. At this time the reservation system is paused so that we can determine which sites will be available for the 50% capacity. We are working with SK Health Authority to ensure we are able to operate safely. Seasonal site holders will be contacted this we...ek, as well as any reservations that are cancelled or moved. Please be patient while we organize for the upcoming season. This is a fluid situation and it can change at anytime. The reservation system will re-open May 5, 2020 at noon CST. On June 1st, 2020 the boat launch will be available and SK seasonal site holders will be allowed into the campground. On June 15th, 2020 the online reservations will start. Brightsand Lake Regional Park is hiring maintenance and office positions for the 2020 camping season. Imagine this as the backdrop for your summer. Please send resumes to [email protected]. Brightsand Lake Regional Park is looking to hire an assistant to the Maintenance Manager. In this position the mature candidate should have carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge. They will learn daily operations of the campground as well as start up and closing yearly procedures. Employment will be from May 1 to September 30, consisting of 40 hours per weeks with some weekends. There is possible opportunity for returning each season and becoming maintenance manager. Reservations will open on February 15, 2020, noon CST. Here is the link to make your reservations. https://brightsand.letscamp.ca/ Guests will only be allowed to reserve one site per transaction. Group sites are considered one site and reserved by one guest. You will be charged for the minimum number of units but are allowed the maximum number of units described for each group site. The difference will be settled at main office at time of check in. There is no need to make an account. Guests use the BOOK NOW feature. The login is for staff and admin to access the site. We are still in the depths of winter but everyone is getting excited for camping in 2020. The reservation system that was being used needed an update. It has been decided that we are going to use an online booking system. We are collaborating with Let's Camp reservation system. Reservations will open February 15, 2020. Notice: Fire Ban for Brightsand Lake Regional Park. Effective May 21, 2019, the R.M. of Mervin No. 499 has issued a full fire ban municipality wide. There shall be no open fires due to the very dry conditions with low humidity. The ban continues until such time that conditions improve and the R.M. Council determines the ban can be lifted. We will update when the fire ban has been lifted.... A fire ban includes: fireworks, burning barrels, smudge, recreational fires and propane fire pits with an open flame higher than 2 inches. When fire burns out of control in our R.M., extra demand is placed on staff and our volunteer fire fighters, creating large costs. The municipality will aggressively pursue recovery from individuals who light fires during a ban. Permitted Uses Include: Barbecues (propane, gas, briquette & wood pellets) Tabletop Propane heaters and propane heaters with a maximum flame height of 2 inches. Patio Heaters Completely enclosed wood pellet fueled fire pits.

Hi from Brighsand, Our park opens up on May 15th. New and exciting year for camping. Thank you for all the wonderful return calls /emails from our many long time seasonal campers, And welcome to the many people that haven't stayed with us before. We are excited to see all the families that come into our park. The fire ban signs are up around the province, we need the rain but I guess snow is the best next thing. Let's hope that this year brings everyone joy, happiness and lasting memories of being around family and friends experiencing the wonders of camping.
