Dear Members of the Brightside, I wanted to let you know that for the first time in Brightside Players history, the Executive committee has made the decision to cancel this year’s annual Pantomime for the 2020 season. I’m sure for many of you this message will come as no surprise. The Milton Arts Centre was very accommodating but at this time there are too many unknown variables, the most important one being keeping our members and our audience safe. If everything goes well a...nd the world has righted itself we will certainly gather again to enjoy all things punny. The plan is to hold the Executive committee in their role until it is safe to gather for an Annual General Meeting to vote for a new one. Should things begin to be safe again before the 2021 season begins, we’ll send out another email with volunteer opportunities but unfortunately most things are on hold. Bill is still working tirelessly on creating new flats for the 2021 season so we can say farewell to our old well loved and painted ones. Our writers are furiously working away on 2021’s script which will assuredly be as punny as years past and include a cheese joke. I may even have commissioned a large crocodile...but that’s enough of hinting what the 2021 panto will be. I can only promise you the crocodile is not yet behind you.
