A fun project coming up! A small outdoor window for a gate Mike is building... Features a bevel in the centre for visibility and pulls colours from the house siding and front door. 9Rita is designing, Mike will lead and putty the piece for durability) #staytuned
And a gift complete! #leadmaster #thinkingofspring #birdhaven
Mike’s piece in its new home
Completed series of three using scrap glass and clear textures as background. Will get installed outside each season :) #gardenwhimsy
Rough cuts done for 3rd panel of 3 for the funky, whimsical garden tryp tych. Other panels of fish and leaves posted previously :) Decided to single side solder the butterflies first (all are reclaimed glass) and then integrate into the frames the way I like them - and to ensure secure fit for stability. The antennae will go on the butterfly last :) #happyglasser
Second panel of three soldered and almost ready for framing. Reclaimed glass leaves, bevels and clear bkgd to tie the three together as a set. (Each dark green leaf was originally cut for the body of a bird, just like the fish in the first panel.)
Mikey finished off a beautiful little piece based off a design borrowed from an antique window he repaired years ago. "The Shield" 14" x 8" hi, leaded... This panel for sale, pls message for pricing.
Grinding and foiling done on last panel of series of three...a productive day :)
We are busier than we have ever been in the glass shop, it’s a great art form that takes up a lot of spare time which we happen to have at the moment! But, there is another link between the Covid pandemic and glass art: https://fb.watch/3M-tly1429/
Mike finishes up a third panel of three. This one for the photographer and panel designer herself.... Choice of glass nothing short of breathtaking...brilliant!
today in the studio.....
