Brit Lions Rugby 23.12.2020

2020 Rugby Community Message From Our President As 2020 comes to an end and we look forward to 2021 with hope of a more normal world, I want to update you on Club happenings and where we are at as a Club and Community. FALL/WINTER 2020 UPDATE... I want to thank all of you who registered for our short compressed fall training season. Despite the weather conditions, late start and the restrictions imposed by the Provincial Health Office, BC Rugby, and Rugby Canada, we managed to get out on the field, run some drills and play touch. My deepest thanks to a Coach Andrew for his work getting us COVID Compliant. Thanks to to him and Coach Ged for running practices Tuesday and Thursday and special thanks to Ged for stepping up when Andrew couldn’t attend for a couple weeks due to more restrictions by the PHO. I want to also recognize the dedication of Joe, Taryn and Walter for coming out every week to help set up the fields per the COVID Safe Rugby Plan. We gained a few new players interested in either coming back to or starting a rugby career. A core group of U15 have come out to help build a junior program for the spring. Thanks to Fionna for continuing a Brit Lions tradition of sponsoring a Christmas Family in need this year. Many thanks to all the members and their families who donated almost $1000!! (You can still donate contact [email protected]) An amazing community initiative ! We have some other community initiatives for Club members to get together and help out folks in Delta. Check the social media for more details. We have some amazing Brit Lions Masks and Gators available contact Harry to order [email protected] Moving forward into the New Year we have plans in place to continue as soon as the current restrictions are lifted January 7th 2021. 2021 UPDATE & FUTURE of BRIT LIONS RUGBY CLUB Moving forward into the New Year we have plans in place to continue as soon as the current restrictions are lifted January 7th 2021. To help plan and provide BC Rugby important data we have posted a poll to all Club Members on our Social Media (see Brit Lions Senior Players Facebook Group & SurveyMonkey to come soon to your email inbox and Facebook groups) This survey is asking if you will be comfortable returning to a planned c...ontact rugby format in the Late Winter/Spring 2021. Please take the time to respond and also share with any Club members who may not be aware or following currently on Facebook and Instagram. This survey is not just important to Rugby BC so they can plan and schedule but is also important to the life of the Brit Lions Rugby Club(est.1929). Finally I Want To Wish All Of You The Best For The Holiday Season. Merry Christmas Happy Hanukkah Happy Kwanzaa Merry Festivus All The Best To All Of You In 2021!!!! #britlions #deltarugby #bcrugby

The recent Public Health Order was updated on November 11th. No-one who lives in Vancouver or Richmond can travel to Delta for rugby practices until November 24th. You may only attend practices if you live in the Fraser Valley Health Authority area. If you work in Richmond or Vancouver, but live in approved areas, you may still come to training.

The Britannia Lions Rugby Club pause on November 11 to remember our brave veterans who stood fast and defended our freedoms. Who proudly represented Canada as peace keepers and defenders of good. Brave men and women that wore the maple leaf proud as the battled evil and tyranny in foreign lands. We remember our own club members who fought in the two great wars and those who never returned. Please take today, November 11th at 11am, to remember them and appreciate the freedoms we have because of their sacrifice.
