You may have heard about the recent CRTC decision that effects rural and Northern Manitobans. BCN supports the CRTC decision. https://www.cbc.ca//business/bell-canada-internet-1.5252419 Broadband Communications North (BCN) sees the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) decision to lower whole rates to mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) is good news for people living in rural and remote areas. Prices will be lower, and service quality should... improve. At the end of the day, customers outside of metropolitan areas should be able to have more money in their pockets. We understand that some of the larger providers have publicly shared that they may have to scale back their expansion plans into rural and northern communities, says Ken Sanderson, Executive Director of Broadband Communications North. These are the very regions we exist to serve and, even now, we have projects and investments underway to improve the quality of life in these communities. BCN has faithfully served these areas for years, providing affordable and reliable internet. BCN works in a different business model than the Big 3. BCN is a non-profit that believes in equitable service for rural and remote areas that enhances the community in which it operates. Since being incorporated in 2002, BCN has grown from a small satellite-based network in a handful of communities to a network with clients in over 50 communities using the full range of technology options to bring solutions to communities whether it is satellite, fixed wireless or fiber optic solutions. BCN is proud to continue building a lasting legacy as a community-driven company that brings employment and training to these often forgotten communities.
