We can’t get enough kisses from one of our newest patients, little Emma. Dad brings her by often so she isn't afraid of the Vet. We love seeing her coming through the door. We encourage all of our clients to bring their puppies by for treats and kisses between visits to help them understand we aren't a scary place

Vicky is right at home here, she's even helping at reception. Her Dad took our suggestion to bring her in for treats between appointments, so now she doesn’t care when we have to give her an injection! We encourage clients to bring their dogs by for a treat between visits :)

Summer is finally here and though most of us enjoy being in the beautiful sun, it can be hard on our furry family members. Here are some tips and tricks to keeping our pets safe in the summer heat. -Have water available ALL the time for both cats and dogs. -Take a swim (or even just a kiddie pool in the yard) -Have your long walks in the morning or evening before the sidewalk heats up or when it starts to cool down. ... - Whenever possible walk on the grass to protect your dogs paws. -Pet sun screen! Your fair-skinned pet needs a special sunscreen for animals to protect them from the discomfort of sunburn. Watch out for those pink noses. -Watch out for wild life and pets seeking shade under cars. -Keep in mind fleas and ticks are out. Make sure your pets are up to date with their flea and tick prevention. -Last but most certainly not least. Never leave any animals in a car in the summer heat. We hope you and your pets enjoy all the fun summer has to offer!

For the first time in almost a century, a total solar eclipse will cover the continental US. The Great American Total Solar Eclipse will occur as the moon passes between the Earth and the sun and will result in a lunar shadow across a path that extends from Oregon to South Carolina. With the moon passing in front of the sun and starting to block the suns light, parts of the sun can still be observed. 1 Without proper protection, direct observation of this phenomenon can lead... to eclipse blindness. Eclipse blindness occurs when the suns rays burn photo receptor cells in the retina. 2 This type of photo chemical damage may also come with thermal injuries that destroy the rods and cones in the retina. 3 Although the chances of pets looking directly at the sun may be minimal, precaution should still be taken, especially if the pet will be outdoors during the event. Humans require special UV glasses that filter the sunlight to safely look directly at the eclipse, and pet owners must ensure their pets are properly equipped with protective eye wear.

Cats Cradle Animal Rescue is holding a fundraiser on June 18th at 11:00am at the Star Cinema in Sidney. The movie, Kedi will be shown. Advance tickets are being sold at the Second Chances store in Sidney (9780 2nd St), Bosleys in Sidney and Broadmead Village Veterinary Clinic. Ticket prices are $25 and tax receipts for $20 are available on request. Kedi is the story of 7 Turkish cats. Hundreds of thousands of Turkish cats roam the metropolis of Istanbul freely. For thousan...ds of years theyve wandered in and out of peoples lives, becoming an essential part of the communities that make the city so rich. Claiming no owners, the cats of Istanbul live between two worlds, neither wild nor tame and they bring joy and purpose to those people they choose to adopt. In Istanbul, cats are the mirrors to the people, allowing them to reflect on their lives in ways nothing else could. Critics and internet cats agree this cat documentary will charm its way into your heart and home as you fall in love with the cats in Istanbul. This film is a sophisticated take on your typical cat video that will both dazzle and educate. Check the web site for the movie trailer: https://www.kedifilm.com http://catscradleanimalrescue.com/events/fundraiser/
