More fun in the shop with students, a big old butcher knife and a curvy dagger read to shave the contours of any arm...
JUGGERNAUT Gymnastics... Buckin Billy Rays 42T "Wood Bullet" forging press being prepped for drilling and reaming the upper ram plates and welding the Grade 8 bolts solid in place. This is a unique JUGGERNAUT with several upgrades including a custom modified 6" cylinder, a 7.5hp motor, 30gpm pump, monster valve and super capacity custom hydraulic tank will keep this beast running cool and for a long time. It will be putting the hurt on some tool steel and pumping out axes in the next couple weeks!!
A new video showing how we design JUGGERNAUT presses and cut them on a CNC Plasma table. This one is going to be a 42T press for Buckin Billy Ray
A pair of 18T twins off to their new homes, one in chilliwack bc and the other going to southwestern Ontario. Time to finish the design of the new DREADNAUGHT presses. They will be single cylinder 42T and 50T Titans! Exciting to see one of my 29T Juggernauts putting the squeeze on a ball bearing for Greenbeetles you tube channel! https://youtu.be/YrIc49lP_4k
28Ton JUGGERNAUT in action with some D2 tool steel
Birth of a Titan ,this is the process of cutting out a JUGGERNAUT Forging Press on a plasma table cut out of 1 solid plate steel. This is where the body is formed next is getting the beast standing and then giving it a heart so it can wreak havoc putting the squeeze on some steel. This ones going far from home to Kelowna B.C.
This is a 16 Ton model, 2 inches per second. The machine has a 12 inch stroke and can handle dies that are 3 inches deep and 10 inches wide. A compact footprint with castor wheels allows this machine to fit in any work space! Contact me for a Juggernaut press of your own!
Definition- Juggernaut: A huge, powerful overwhelming force... New Forging Presses available, this solid 1 thick frame is capable of 50 tons force with no problems. This one is for a knifemaker wanting a 16T Press. The frame is complete, next mounting hydraulics and motor to run off 110V 20 amp circuit. Takes up a small footprint and can be rolled out of the way for small workshops, built to handle heavy duty daily forging. Presses will have a foot pedal and hand control. This is the frame and first phase of the press builds. For a Juggernaut Press built to your needs please contact me.
Black & Blue paint job make this one a Bruiser! The first Juggernaut Forging Press is ready to go to it’s no owner. The press runs 2 inch per second in high flow rate, NO yawning or deflection in the frame when forging. This is the 16 ton power pack so can run off of 110V single phase line client wanted T style dies for setting billet welds and a set of drawing dies. A 12 stroke with capabilities for 3x10 dies affords plenty of free space for tooling and different forging die combinations. All comes together in a tidy package with a 3/4 thick base plate 30 deep and 26 wide on castors to easily be moved around a work space. Has foot treadle control or hand lever. Juggernaut Definition: A massive inexorable force, campaign, movement, or object that crushes whatever is in its path
Great fun with Luc and Patrick! First time forging they they did an amazing job and made some beautiful Medieval Frankish style seax knives and some great Kukri knives. Excellent work mes amis!!

200 year old Indian Crucible steel! Any suggestions for special project? Thanks again to Forge Bilal for the material!!
New shop addition, it’s the largest flypress I’ve ever seen. A 4 foot tall no 10 double sided Fly Press. Just need to build a heavy duty table for it and make some tooling. The screw is almost 4 in diameter and the flywheel required 3 people to mount. Looking forward to having it setup for doing precision forging on tong jaws and piercing and trimming operations. Fly presses are amazing tools and their practical applications are limitless. The seller was generous enough to give me a 200 year old piece of Indian crucible steel, Hardness as is came in at 62Hrc. It will take along time for me to consider what a special piece to make with this steel I have to do it justice and make sure to forge it proper. Crucible steel is challenging to work but done right the end product and patterns revealed are amazing!
Loooooonngg Firepoker, pineapple twist handle with alternating twists down the length of the piece. Forged out of solid 1 stock using the big 242 pound hammer and the 50 pound little helve I built during some down time. 4 foot length overall should keep the hands well away from the fire and still be usable for those big bonfires!
Good bye blue eyes, Golden Albino Raccoon will get to live out the rest of its days down by the river!
A mysterious visitor stopped in to the shop last night. Caught in my live trap I saw her this morning. Big sky blue coloured eyes and a beautiful light orange body. I don’t know if she was looking for coal dust to put on her normal makeup or what but I’m gonna let her go on her way, she’s overcome all odds to survive to adulthood. It’s a 1 in 750 000 chance to see one of these but this morning I have an albino raccoon.
Forging with the Green Hulk hammer 242 pound ram and the little 50 pound hammer made some pickup tongs today. Long jaw Boca tongs and short jaw tongs made for heavy and large diameter material. The tongs were forged out of spring steel. Gotta get a grip!
New powerhammer, based on the old Ajax and my big 242 pound Prako hammer, this little hammer was built in between jobs and has a 55 pound ram, off set dies, adjustable ram height and eccentric adjustment. Hits like a beast and runs about 200bpm. I really like having a monster hammer in the shop and a smaller hammer. Dies we’re old fork truck forks so likely 4140. I heated them up and forged to rough dimension on the big hammer and then annealed and milled to square. Little hammer has a carousel for the lower sow block so I can make different tooling and spin the bolster plate for different lower tooling in a moment instead of unbolting dies. On to the next projects, waiting for some plasma cut parts for some client hydraulic press builds.
No powerhammer just hand forged trade axe, this time a slit and drifted eye and 1095 steel insert for the cutting edge. Forged finish with linseed oil gave a nice traditional finish.
Leaf Spring Billhook, forged out of a Ford F150 leaf spring, I used the Hydra to forge the blade to shape and rounded dies to make the bevels. Maple handle and a steel ferrule with linseed oil finish. cuts 2" trees off in one swipe and still shaves hair nicely. This will be part of the traditional tool product line I will be selling. Maybe like the truck the billhook will be a best seller!
My newest addition to my product line, 3/4 diameter spring steel S hooks for those particularly heavy items you cook over your campfire....
