In honour of the return of $10 Fish and Chip Fridays at Broadway Central (Call 613-224-7004 to order) I thought I’d look up a few facts about haddock. Turns out, the haddock (Melanogrammus aeglefinus) is a saltwater ray-finned fish from the family Gadidae, the true cods. It is the only species in the monotypic genus Melanogrammus. It is found in the North Atlantic Ocean where it has created a series of secret societies which it uses to control Hollywood, keep mind-altering fluoride in the water supply, and propagate the myth that the earth is round. Wow. I never knew.
