Today the Broadway Music family lost a beloved brother. Jeremy Woodland started teaching at the store in his teens. I was always blown away by his playing. He was an old soul on the guitar and could finger pick with the best of them. His students loved him. Anytime you were blessed to be in his company there was laughter and joy, Always. His siblings eventually taught at Broadway as well. Their family was our family. My deepest condolences to his mother Helena, sister Melanie, brother Nathan, his wife Dawne and his son, Joe. We are grieving with you and holding you in our hearts.

Boxing day. In keeping with our store tradition we are not having a Boxing Day sale. Nothing bothers me more than finding the item I bought before Christmas is deeply discounted the day after Christmas. We have fair prices everyday. That is part of what makes us the oldest music store and music school in town. Due to the Covid restrictions we are going to be open limited hours. We are taking curbside pick up orders by phone at 519 940 4810 or email at [email protected] or you can message us here. We will be in the store on the 29th from 2 pm to 5 pm for pickups and appointments. See you then maybe...

It's gratifying to see how much music is getting people through these challenging times. It has always been a touchstone for relaxation and creative expression. If you have ever wanted to learn to play an instrument, now is a great time! We have instruments from beginner to professional as well as lessons spots available.

One of the most exciting tools for guitar players over the past ten years has been the advances in looping pedal technology. This "micro" loop pedal from Mooer gives great functionality in a tiny package. Only $119.99 while they last: Some guitar player on your list will love this pedal.

We love to teach children of all ages. I feel honoured to have been a part of Peter's musical journey. Helping adults achieve their goals and dreams is a privilege. From Peter....... I’m ‘lesson prepping’ this morning, of all things, and reviewing posts dealing with music. Fitting that I came across this one this week. The memory is roughly 5 years old (notice the relative absence of greys and a lot less wrinkles) around Christmas. But, instead of a carol, I chose to sing a hymn. With the anniversary of Dad’s passing this week, it always reminds me of him (it was played at his funeral). My Mom was watching and speaks at the end. These memories brought sadness since Dad is long passed and Mom, although we still connect every week, seems to struggle more and more with lucidity and with life. With Heather Katz accompanying me, it brought nostalgia. It reminded me how much I love the music of my home town back in Canada. I miss my band of mates, acoustic and otherwise. I miss performing. I also miss jamming here in Belgium. I miss singing. But it also brought me joy. It reminded me how much I love to sing. It highlighted how much I learned when studying with Heather. And, for fear of sounding immodest, it showed me there’s a seed of talent there. I told our Canadian school students back in May at one of our online morning assemblies that it was important to remember to do things that bring you joy. As we continue to deal with our new reality, these words still ring true. There is always going to be sadness and nostalgia as well as chaos and uncertainty and fear and hatred. You won’t even have to look very hard. Please... DON’T FORGET JOY! Peter LeBlanc, accompanied by Healther Katz, ‘How Great Thou Art’

The Seagull S6 Original Available in Orangeville at Broadway Music The S6 has been our most popular guitar for more than 12 years. Built in Canada by GODIN GUITARS of Canadian sourced woods this guitar consistently delivers quality sound at very reasonable cost. Here is what a couple of review sites had to say about the S6:... Take a first glance at the S6 guitar and you’ll think there’s nothing special about this instrument. It has no fancy inlay, no cutaway, no chrome-died tuners, and everything looks pretty traditional. But here’s the thing. It has a great quality. And it’s a quality you can’t see, it’s a quality you can hear when you play the guitar. Beginner Guitar HQ Excellent Action and Feel: Only a handful of guitars with the similar price range as this one would play very well. With the S6, you can compare it to higher-end guitars in regards to its feel and playability. Beginners will be able to adapt to its shape quickly, learning the ropes without the hassle or frustrations. The Guitar Junky. Come see us and try this amazing Canadian made guitar today! Only at Broadway Music!

Great to see Seymour Duncan joining with TJWhitelaw (former Broadway Music student and teacher). If your fingers are nimble take the challenge!
