Found this wonderful resource which has daily devotionals during the Advent season. Beginning on Sunday, there will be a different post for each day of Advent on our Facebook page, and potentially also our website. The devotional, prepared by the Presbyterian Mission Agency in the United States contains some wonderfully poignant reflections on reading during the Advent and Christmas season. I hope you will find this as hopeful and helpful as I have simply by going through it. Enjoy.

Good day to all of you good people at Broadway United Church. So obviously even since the last post I made on this things have changed substantially. Until further notice the church will remain closed by necessity and out of respect to what our health care leaders and providers are saying and asking us to do. The council of Broadway United Church will be doing everything in its power to keep you up-to-date on information relating to the church, worship and the way forward. ...To that end it is important that we try to mitigate too many voices coming in on the periphery of these discussions, particularly those voices that actually have nothing to do with the decision making body of the church.For information related to the church you will find that on Broadway webpage, and on Broadway Facebook page. If you have questions, and I mean any questions, about the goings-on and about the path forward from where we are today, please call and leave a message at the church and a member of the board or CAROLYN or myself will get back to you with the proper information. These are strange and interesting times indeed and it is helpful to remember that this is not a course that anyone has charted before in our history let alone our city our provinces and our countrys history. So lets do the things that we know that we need to do, lets pray for each other, lets take care of each other by CALLING and making sure that everyone is OK. When the time comes, and it will sooner rather than later, we will gather for worship we will find an excuse to eat food together and we will celebrate our being together once again. Just a message to keep you, the good folks of Broadway United Church, up to date on the fallout of the Covid19 restrictions in our little corner of the world. The Medical Health Officer for the province of Saskatchewan has offered an update on public gatherings. It is with these recommendations in mind that we will be closing the church for, at a minimum the next Sundays but potentially more. This is a safety precaution that we will all need to take seriously. Make sure to p...ass along links to the Broadway United Church Facebook page with all your fellow church members for up to date information. On a side note we, as a church, will be providing small spiritual interludes via our Facebook page in the absence of services on Sundays. I am envisioning that these will take a variety of forms and will hopefully include a variety of voices. The first of these will appear Before the end of the week. As always please keep the office up to date on people that you know need to be reached out to. Blessings to all and be vigilant but hopeful and we will come through this. Rev Jim Balfour
