Hello Broad-WHAT? Family! Thank you for spending time with us while you listen to another great episode. I am thrilled to debut this episode with the amazing Andrew Cownden. I remember when I saw him perform for the first time and was absolutely star struck! I got to sit down and chat with him about his artistic influences growing up, his time studying at at CCPA, and how he attacks each role he has played. Andrew is a huge inspiration to me and I was so glad to get to chat with him in more length! Check Andrew out at https://www.andrewcownden.com/ and at Twitter at @AndrewCownden. Hello everyone! Welcome to 2021. We hope you took a well deserved break over the holiday season and ready to take on whatever the new year has to offer. As for us, we were busy getting this year’s episodes ready for you to listen to! Starting this year with a bang, is the incomparable Allyson Fournier. Of course I’ve heard of the incredible talent that Allyson is, but it wasn’t till I was up north with her that I truly saw what an exceptional person she is. She is loving, har...d working, and works so hard to be the best she can be. Which truly is all we can ask anyone for. She wears her heart on her sleeve, something I admire greatly of her. She is a director, writer, actress, and exudes such light while tackling anything she tries. I adore her. Allyson is currently studying directing at the National Theatre School @nts_directing_program, and is assisting Anita Rochon on a production of Everybody by Branden JAcobs-Jenkins. Follow her on instagram @ak4nier and on Tik Tok at username: ak4yay Thank you for tuning in to this week’s episode of @broadwhatpodcast and stay tuned for more each week! I’m sure you’ve noticed a lack of episode this week! Last week with @lucindavsim was our last regular guest episode of 2020! The Polaroids you see here are all the episodes that have yet to be released! We have about 3 months of episodes recorded from before pandemic and we can’t wait for you to hear it. We still have some content that has yet to be released (recorded virtually of course) so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks! ... Stay safe, and if you’re alone for the holidays we hope we can give you some comfort and entertainment

Hello everyone! Thank you for tuning in to another brilliant episode of @broadwhatpodcast. Today’s guest was an absolute dream because I got to chat with one of my favourite people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing, Arielle Ballance. @arielleballance is an accomplished music director, accompanist, and just straight up a boss. I fell instantly in love with Arielle when she music directed me in Merrily We Roll Along a few years ago. She’s so insanely talented, hard working..., and so sincere to everyone around her. She truly lightens up a room, and I was overjoyed she said yes to being on the show. I learned so much about her, I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat while she spoke about her love of music, how she found herself making Vancouver her home, and her next steps as an artist. Go send her some love, and HIRE HER. You will note regret it. Hello everyone, and thank you for tuning in to another incredible episode of Broad-WHAT? featuring an even more incredible guest. I am of course talking about Daniel Bristol. @daniel.j.bristol is a recent graduate of Studio 58, and since graduating has performed all over British Columbia. I saw him perform when he was still at school and was blown away by his natural charisma and talent on stage. He has a raw way at tackling content that really blew me away; and I knew I had ...to have him on the show. Daniel is kind, strong willed, and so very creative. We talked about when he caught the creative bug, how he approaches text, and what his time at @studio58theatre meant to him. He truly is such a sweet person to be around, I was so glad to be introduced to him through this conversation. Daniel has worked all over BC including Miracle Theatre, ITSAZOO and placed 2nd place overall in the global finals of the World Monologue Games. He’s incredibly talented, and we’re so proud of him. See him next in ITSAZOO/Aphotic Theatre’s production of The Café scheduled to run in 2021. Hello everyone and welcome to November! This year has been going by crazy fast but also feels like the slowest year ever? Truly the highlight was getting to talk to so many incredible guests, and this week is no different. I was contacted by the world's loveliest person, Bailey. @bailey_madill is a huge theatre fan and wanted to give the broad-what audience insight to a professional ballerina life. Originally from Kamloops, she’s been studying dance all her life and she’s an ...incredibly talented performer. I’ve had the great pleasure in getting to take one of her ballet classes and she is as brilliant as she is kind. Hello everyone, and thank you for tuning in to 100 episodes of our new format for Broad-WHAT podcast and season two. What a crazy amazing ride this has been! To celebrate this amazing occasion I of course had to bring out one of the most incredible interviews I’ve done to date and that guest is the absolutely amazing Eva Tavares. Of course I’ve known about Eva for some time, and have had the pleasure of seeing her perform. She is an absolute star. With credits like West Side ...Story at the Citadel, and playing the role of Christine in the North American Tour of Phantom of the Opera, you can’t not be in awe of her talent. The amazing thing about Eva is that she’s not only talented, she’s humble, smart, intuitive, and so very kind. I’m so glad to have gotten to sit down and get to know her. This interview is even longer than normal because I was on the edge of my seat getting to learn all about her. I’ve had the great pleasure of being led by her in one of her Behind the Mask '' masterclasses and her experience shines through when emparting her knowledge to fellow performers. Welcome back to this week's episode of @broadwhatpodcast! Today in our Broad-WHAT Toronto series. On today’s episode we get to learn more about Clare Wyatt. I’ve been the biggest fan of Clare for the longest time. Everyone who knows her know’s that she is at the top of her game. An extremely talented music director, accompanist, basically a jack of all trades, he skills know no bounds. She is currently studying at University of Toronto working towards her M.Mus in Music Tech...nology and digital media. Clare is honestly an icon, and I enjoyed every second talking to her in her environment. I’m so glad to know her. You can follow Clare on instagram at @clareewyatt The Black in B.C. The funds raised through this GoFundMe page will be distributed in one-time allotments of $150, to Black folks on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no expectation that the funds will be repaid, or that recipients will report back on how the money was spent. I am so excited about this month's series of episodes! I went down to Toronto last November to record with these amazing artists and it was such an incredible experience. The stories I heard and experienced were so inspiring and I can not wait for you to hear them. I hope you enjoy! On today’s episode, I had the insane pleasure in getting to learn more about Becky Frohlinger. Becky and I virtually met when she was in town during the Arts Club run of Matilda. She was looking ...for a place to rent, and since I was heading out of town for a contract, it was a match made in heaven. I am so glad our paths crossed because she is simply the best. This Elon University alum is a funny, endearing, brilliant person. I was so pleased to get to learn more about her. We chatted in her beautiful apartment while we discussed her family ties, studying at Elon University and what keeps her going when working all over Canada and beyond. Thank you for tuning into another episode of @broadwhatpodcast! I am absolutely thrilled to welcome back Laura Fukumoto. You may remember Laura from our Fringe For All episode we did for Fringe 2019 where she spoke about the creation of her show Where the Quiet Queers Are. During this episode I knew I had to bring her back on the show and since then began a budding friendship that I absolutely adore. @hellofukumoto Laura is an incredible artist. Everything tackles every pro...ject with grace, power and so much talent. I am in awe of every time I see her work. I sat watching Where the Quiet Queers are and couldn’t find the words to express my joy and happiness seeing myself represented on stage. Hi friends! Welcome to another lovely conversation for you. We’ve been slowly getting through our podcasts we recorded from last year, and this one was such a delight to get working on. First off, we talk about the Hogans Alley Society. Hogan’s Alley was home to Vancouver’s Black population. The Hogan’s Alley Society has been working with the City of Vancouver to ensure the redevelopment of what was once home to Vancouver's black community. Currently, they are negotiating wit...h the city of Vancouver over the future of the former Hogan’s Alley site. https://www.hogansalleysociety.org/ or @hogans.alley Nancy von Euw is an absolute powerhouse. Hello everyone and welcome back to Broad-WHAT? podcast. As many of you know, we are going forward with our episodes of Broad-WHAT? With a special twist. Before every episode we will be showcasing companies and charities that support BLM, BIPOC and voices that need to be amplified. In this episode, I was introduced to the Vancouver Black Therapy & Advocacy Fund. VBT&AF is a not-for-profit initiative that aims to raise funds to make mental health support more accessible to Bla...ck community members in the Lower Mainland. This fundraiser was created with the understanding of the disparity of access for Black mental health resources. Not only is she an incredible artist and performer but she also is a GEM. She has an incredible insight in what she wants to achieve in life. I think a lot of that has to do with her love of learning, and her search for answers in life. When she said yes to being on the show I was absolutely thrilled. I’ve seen her in action and let me tell you - she is absolutely amazing. She commands the room and I can learn a lot from her. She also has an amazing instagram theme where she shares information and links to work on your allyship. A true queen in my books. However I will also be using this platform to evoke change, to support BIPOC people and aide in people’s journeys to become anti-racist. ... Before you hear each guest, I will be sharing a different organization or platform, what they stand for and how you can educate and donate yourself. Links will be included in the bios of each episode. I am also opening this platform up to any BIPOC performer that would like to host their own episode of broadWHAT so send me a direct message if that interests you! Today’s episode is so great, because not only did I get to interview an amazing talent, but also a dear, dear friend. Stephanie Liatopoulos and I met when I auditioned for her company @dramanatrixprod and we instantly knew we’d be friends for life. She may be the most passionate and determined person I’ve ever had the pleasure in working with. Numerous times I have jumped head first into situations outside of my comfort zone because Steph was at the helm. I am soo excited about this week's episode because I have so much love and respect for my next guest. He is a brilliant performer, he’s a FDC certfied Actor combatant, and wonderful friend. Of course I am talking about the amazing Nicholas Yee. Nicholas and I met working at @gatewaythtr and quickly fell in love. He is so kind, as is always looking out for his fellow peers and performers. He has an incredible insight to his performing career and he’s always inspired me to be ...better and work harder. During this episode we spoke alot about mental health and his journey navigating that. If anyone is searching for help during this time of isolation due to Covid-19, check out this link for virtual support. https://www2.gov.bc.ca//mental-h/virtual-supports-covid-19 Thank you to Nicholas for being you, you’re amazing. Hello everyone, and thank you for checking out this week's episode of Broad-WHAT?! If you're looking for a spark of joy right now, then you’ve come to the right place because Megan Littlejohn is pure light. She’s such a joy to be around and I was shocked that this was the first time we met. I reached out to past Broad-WHAT? alum Tiffany Hunter and asked her to put me in touch with the lovely Megan. She said yes and soon she was over drinking tea and being absolutely incredib...le. Megan is a semi-recent addition to the Vancouver theatre scene and I am so glad she's here. She can do literally anything, and most recently just joined the team at Disney Cruise lines, fulfilling a lifelong dream. Megan is so kind, and so willing to share her story even though we just met. I was in awe of the inner beauty that was just radiating out of her. I hope you enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it! You can see more of Megan through her instagram at @mostlymodernmeg See you next week, lovelies! We took the last month on to adjust to the current situation everyone is dealing with. We also used this time to organize the next six months of regular episodes! Starting with the incredible Tessa. On today’s episode, I had the insane pleasure in getting to speak to Tessa Trach. I’ve admired her talent and stage presence for so long now, but haven’t been able to have a 1 on 1 with her yet! So I reached out through mutual friends, she said yes to coming on the show, and I co...uldn't be happier! I truly am the lucky one, because Tessa is one of the most dynamic people I've ever met. She has this radiant smile that can’t be copied and I was so glad to get to know her during this recording. She is a triple threat, an educator, and all around cool human. I was on the edge of my seat for most of this episode hearing her story. You can check her out through her instagram @tessatrach Thank you so much for tuning in to this week's episode with the lovely Tessa. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay true to you!
