The Boys & Girls Club of Durham is an organization that has been dear to my heart for several years. . In previous years we would volunteer for their annual Christmas drive/dinner providing a delicious meal, much needed necessities and even some gifts from the big guy himself for underprivleged youth in our own community. These youth are in our own backyards. For some, this will be the ONLY time they will have a celebration of any sort. . Unfortunately this beautiful evening... of love & community cannot happen this year but as per the true, solid, unwavering spirit of this organization, the love and support will continue. . Just a wee note before I retire from another amazing day doing what I love....nurses!!! Ugggh, I feel so incredibly blessed to work in a profession (predominantly) with other women. Finally, after so many years of the philosophy that senior nurses eat their young I can see the shift happening to a same team mentality. I directly attribute this shift to the open-minded mentality of senior nurses and the genuity of the newer nurses. We are all on the frontlines TOGETHER.
