TIK TOK TUESDAY (Minus the TikTok today ) P.I.P.S TECHNIQUE ... I recently had the opportunity to spend time learning more about pediatric specific techniques, and I am happy to say that I am now trained in the P.I.P.S technique to better help the pediatric community! The P.I.P.S technique was founded by Dr. Jenna Davis and stands for: PEDIATRIC INTRAORAL PALATE SPECIFIC TECHNIQUE So what does that help with? It is a technique to assist with : Infant TMJD - yes! Infants and children can have this too (they usually have different symptoms than adults) This can affect many things including sucking (feeding issues), breathing, head control and digestion. Sphenoid fault - misaligned cranial bone Tongue/buccal / lip ties- can produce symptoms associated with acid reflux, colic, failure to thrive, poor and difficult latch, clicking while nursing, popping off, excessive drooling, speech and swallowing and can impact a variety of issues Dural tension- affects how the cranial bones move Oral motor challenges Oral sensory challenges This is just another resource I have that I can use to help all the little ones that I see! Please give a warm welcome to our newest massage therapist, Malyna! Malyna has been a massage therapist for over 5 years and will be joining our team on July 29th. Malyna is experienced in all types of massage including deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and relaxation massage.... Malyna is a Leeds Grenville native and is looking forward to continuing to provide massage services to the Brockville and surrounding area as she has for the last 4 and a half years. May 28th Update: We have started to have clients reach out to us based on the news over the past few days about the opening of more health care sectors in Ontario. We are still currently closed and will remain closed until at least June 7th with the exception of chiropractic services! Dr. Erika will be taking clients starting next week!
