A Bit of An Update! We are sure you have many questions about the upcoming season! We are definitely asking lots of questions too. We don’t have concrete answer as we are waiting on several factors including decisions from our township about ice and arenas (they will be meeting on Friday to make some decisions in this regard)... Here are some things we can answer. -We are required to play within our own Public Health Region (for BMHA that is Durham Public Health) this limits the teams that we can play, that we are used to playing (as an example, we will not be permitted to play Mariposa) -We are still moving forward with our 2020/2021 season planning. -We have been working to prepare schedules and costs (Please note that information is subject to change depending on arena availability, etc., which has yet to be determined) -BMHA executive have discussed different scenarios in the event that things don’t go as planned and will release details on those secondary plans when/if necessary. We are very grateful for your patience and understanding as we work with OMHA, Brock township, Public Health, and other associations to get our season going. This is not your typical season and as new information comes in, we may have to assess and reassess our plans. We look forward to getting our kids back on the ice with our focus on their health and safety! At this point BMHA only requires a $100 deposit per player, which is due Friday September 18th, 2020. Etransfers can be sent to [email protected] A security password is required, an email will be sent to all members with the security answer that we’d prefer that you use. OMHA has put out the following for our information https://www.omha.net/news_article/show/1118257 Thank you Brock Minor Hockey Association
Thank you to everyone who joined our virtual Zoom AGM the other night! We still have several things to sort out for this upcoming season and we do appreciate your patience as we do that! Thank you again to the members of our association!! We would also like to thank the executives members who are not returning for all their hard work and dedication over their term(s) with BMHA (we know you are all sticking around to help with the transitions and we thank you for that too!!...) Please welcome your 2020-2021 BMHA Executive Jody Pardy-President Colin Kay-OMHA Rep Ryan Pullin-Three County Rep Dave Parry-Treasurer Nicki Heggie-Secretary Shawn Prentice- Coach and Player Development Rick Clark- Equipment Manager Ben O’Grady- Registrar Mike Clark-Ice Manager Ron Torrance-Referee in Chief Shannon Taylor-Time/Gate Manager Melissa Foote-Fundraising Matt Gross- Sponsorship Shawna Davidson-Director at Large Kari Graham-Past President
Our AGM is tonight (Tuesday September 1st) at 7:00pm via Zoom (an email was sent to parents with the link) Please join us as we go through the usual AGM items, form our new executive and discuss the Return to Play for the start of this season (things are definitely different at the moment) A little bit about Return to Play As the start of hockey is approaching the executive has been working on a safe Return to Hockey Plan. ... We are discussing plans to "partner" with another association within our Health Unit (please note that OMHA requires us to play within our regional health unit which limits who and where we can play) Exact details are being sorted and we need to confirm our numbers. We will be requesting a $100 deposit to confirm your interest in playing this season. Registration fees are still being worked out and should be available once the new executive is formed. (After September 1st).
