Who doesn’t like a tight fit? This wasn’t easy to achieve. Despite years of experience and careful measuring it still took 6 tries to finesse this into place. The wall to the left (out of the picture) is out of square and the counter needed to be scribed. The post is not square by any means, so an irregular notch was the way to go. It allowed us to avoid an ugly overcut around the post (and probably some ugly moulding to cover the gap).
