Myth: When someone is having a heart attack get them to lie down. What to do: Call 911, get them to sit in a half seated position so it is easier for them to breath. Lying down makes it harder for them to breath. Give them ASA. If they go unresponsive and are not breathing or breathing normally, start CPR.

Myth: Tilt your head back when you have a bloody nose. Fact: Do not do this! This causes the blood to run back into your throat, which in turn can cause vomiting, and does not stop the bleeding as well. What to do: Tilt your head forward and pinch the bridge of the nose with a tissue or what ever you have handing for the bleeding. And hold until the bleeding stops, replacing the tissue as you go. Depending on the seriousness of the injury. Keep the bloody tissues for the doctors to gage the blood loss.

Did you know that 80 % of cardiac arrests happen at home. Something to think about. Maybe it might be beneficial to think about taking a basic cpr class. If you think this is all you want to do over a standard first aid or healthcare provider CPR. I can help. Just let me know. It just takes a short period of time to learn a great life saving skill.
