We wouldn't have been able to book time off for a live conference so we were so grateful this option is available - and we hope it continues to be, post-Covid. If you aren't familiar with Liza, I highly recommend tuning into some of her recent webcasts about ethical breeding. As someone who comes from the rescue world, I have learned a lot from her posts and developed a new appreciation for how hard some breeders work to do well by their dogs, and to put sound, healthy pets into our communities. In Vancouver, there is a...n incredibly high demand for companion animals, and this is opening the door to pet brokering from both breeders and rescues. Separation anxiety success!! Yogi was rescued by his parents at the age of 7. His previous life had not been easy, and adapting to condo life has come with challenges. He became super stressed when left alone, so his guardians called us for help with separation anxiety. Because Tyler and Laura had already learned a lot on their own and had some foundation work in place, they chose our Get You Started package. Shelley worked with them over one week to set up protocols, routine...s, and a training plan to help build Yogi's confidence while chilling on his own. Everyone did amazingly well! Tyler and Laura are very tuned into their guy and understood the importance of gaining Yogi's trust and going at his pace. Yogi used to start barking and howling almost immediately after the door closed. Within the first week he could chill out for six minutes on his own, and after three weeks he was comfortable for 30 minutes. We are so proud of Team Yogi! He is well on his way to staying calm and collected while his parents step out, knowing he will be safe and they will always come back for him.
