Additional COVID-19 public health measures come into effect today for a variety of businesses and events. Establishments requiring proof of vaccination or a neg...ative test are eligible for the Restrictions Exemption Program. Participating businesses must continue to follow indoor mask requirements, but can operate without capacity or operating restrictions. Customers will need to provide proof of vaccination, documentation of a medical exemption or proof of a privately-paid, negative COVID-19 test within the past 72 hours. Children under 12 do not need to provide a negative test result. Audits and enforcement will occur to ensure rules are followed. Temporary public health measures will come into effect September 4 at 8 am to address increasing COVID-19 transmission and rising hospital admissions: + Masks a...re mandatory in all public spaces and workplaces + Schools are not required to implement masking, but school boards will continue to set policies as they deem appropriate + Bars, restaurants, nightclubs and other licensed establishments must end alcohol service at 10 pm + Albertans are encouraged to limit in-person contacts. We strongly recommend that unvaccinated Albertans limit indoor social gatherings to two cohort families, up to a maximum of 10 people. + Working from home is recommended.
