Paddlers' Inn 18.02.2021

Creating and sharing a connection to nature here for 42 years now, so that folks have an opportunity to awaken in nature, and to radiate love internally & externally. (Recent carving by me).

Often it’s the simple things in life that help to uncluttered our minds, and remind us how peaceful the world can be.

A beautiful aerial video of humpbacks feeding. These whales are frequently seen in our neighborhood, and once we had one doing this right beside the lodge!

It’s so heart warming to see local First Nations reclaiming their lands, culture, and connection to spirit and purpose, as the settler culture departs, having ransacked all they could get away with. What a wonderful refreshing vision!

Mother Nature and everything that s/he encompasses can return to health if given a chance, created by conscious inclusive determination. We welcome these members of our community back into the Broughton. They have been so missed.

Here are some spectacular images of local Orca Whales, as well as an explanation of why boat [motor] noise is a problem. We hope that our guests will see whales and wildlife during their stay with us, preferably from a kayak, or during the water taxi trip to and from our wilderness location. It’s pretty rare that we will accompany the whales for more than a few minutes, as I can imagine (and have heard) how abrasive whale chasing/ watching can be for them. Thank you to those that watch and study quietly from shore.

A few days ago at Strider rubbing beach we shared an incredibly intimate encounter with the A23 and A25 families. In pirticular an especially lovley moment betw...een A85, her baby A121 and her uncle A61. A121's unseasonal birth this time last year was a really remarkable day in all of our memories. How lovely it is to see mum, baby and the whole family thriving and how greatful we are to the Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve allowing them this time and space for themselves. PLEASE NOTE: All footage has been captured at Orcalab using remote cameras placed inside Robson Bight (Michael Bigg) Ecological Reserve under permit. No recreational vessels powered or non powered are permitted in this area and landing by people is prohibited. To support Orcalab's work and find out more about Orcas head to Orcalab.org.

ESCAPE INTO NATURE. The creation-dream of Paddlers Inn began 40 years ago, to invite people from around the world to experience the vibrant beauty of British Columbia’s wilderness coastline, with a safe, intimate, and sensitive approach. During this crazy and disruptive covid time for humankind, mother nature is carrying on as usual creating inviting day- breaks and day-ends, filled in between with potential for connection, to self, family, and friends, and to awakening in th...e cradle of nature, remembering that we are a part of all this beauty! The ability to build our homes, feed our families, and manifest our dreams is all rooted in the abundance of nature, and her generosity, which continues to surround us, especially here in the Broughton Archipelago. With our stand alone cabins nestled into the quiet forested shoreline of the Broughton Archipelago, Paddlers Inn is a perfect destination for couples, families, and small groups that are looking for a wilderness holiday that is cozy and safe, while still being fully immersed in the rhythms of tide and sea. Release your imagination into the vast star bright skies that invite and whisper of a gentle nights sleep, followed by the pure joy of breathing fresh forest air with an accent of sea salt, all day long with the ones you love. Explore untrammeled rainforest trails, or meander along secluded shorelines by kayak, based from our homestead and your cabins doorstep into nature. We are open for business this summer and are welcoming you to e-mail us at [email protected] or call 250-230-0088 to make arrangements for your ESCAPE INTO NATURE! For those of you that don't feel safe, or can't afford to venture out, our wish is that you experience the peaceful expansiveness and beauty that can be found when mindfully breathing into your body, finding your connection to nature inside yourself. In these strange times, the importance of connecting with our true nature and the natural environment around us has become profoundly accented. Although some of nature can travel to be seen in urban landscapes, the habitat and everything supporting it's existence can not. If you are longing to immerse yourself in the gentle flow of tides, silent day-breaks, and expansive star-bright night skies that whisper the peaceful unfolding of creation, Paddlers Inn offers a peaceful oasis nestled gently along the forested wilderness shoreline of the Broughton Archipelago. We are open, and we welcome you! Ps: This image is not real! and it’s hilarious that Facebook has removed it, trying to edit our opinions...

Here’s a beautiful song about a beautiful man, local legend, and foundational support person for pretty much everyone who has lived here in the last 40 years or so...

We are optimistically preparing for our summer season, but don’t expect it to be quite this busy way out here in the Broughton wilderness.

Mother Nature deserves to be treated like our mother, not like a Amazon outlet.

Paddlers Inn bows in service to the awakening of ecology, today and every day, as we welcome people from across the world to deepen their connection to nature and self. One and the same. Happy Mother Earth day.
