As a permanent makeup artist when you book an appointment my time is spoken for. I have carved out 2+hours to spend time with YOU. Not somebody else. My time is not divided. My time does not overlap. You pay a 30% booking fee to hold you accountable to that spot. So you also have some skin in the game. This appointment should be important to you. You've pre-paid for a portion of my time. ... You have waited months to see me so I can give you beautiful permanent makeup. I have gone into the office, set up my tray, counting on YOU to show up to your appointment. Before COVID-19 I maybe had 4 no-shows all year. Right now I'm averaging 5 per week. This is 25%-50% of my income for my week GONE. Because people are not communicating with me that the time doesn't work for them anymore. I'm not even being given the opportunity to fill that spot. Which I will ALWAYS try to do when im given adequate notice. As a client it is YOUR responsibility to be accountable to your appointment. My booking system sends out 2 courtesy reminder emails and 1 text message. I should not have to chase you down to show up to an appointment YOU booked. I am a small business. My time is just as valuable as yours. Please don't make me be the bad guy and keep your booking fee. I HATE doing that. Let me serve you by communicating you can't come to your appointment. As a permanent makeup artist my job is not only to create beauty but revamp old and possibly undesirable work. This beauty came to me with very dark blue brows which were lopsided and had many "too deep" area. We did 1 removal session to get them a bit lighter. Then I did a color correction using an orange based ink to neutralize the blue. ... Then, I went overtop with her desired brow color in a dusted in application. Magic happened in the studio today.
