As we kick off Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to supporting charities, we thought we would share some fun facts about our own charity The Saskatchewan 4-H Fo...undation! - This year marks 60 years since the Foundation was formed through an Act of Saskatchewan Legislature. The 60th Anniversary is also known as the Diamond Anniversary. We are celebrating this milestone by sharing Diamond Discovery Stories at https://www.4-h.sk.ca/foundation60th.html - The Foundation supports the 4-H program by providing operating funds, scholarships, and additional support for special projects - The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Trustees, which must include a representative from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture, the Dean of the U of S College of Agriculture and Bioresources, and a representative from the Saskatchewan 4-H Council Board of Directors. - When you donate to the Foundation, your donation helps to ensure the longevity of the 4-H program, so that youth can continue to Learn To Do By Doing both now and for future generations. - Donations of $20 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt There are many ways you can show your support! Visit https://www.4-h.sk.ca/donors.html to learn more.

We are very excited to be bringing summer camp to our 4-H members this year! Our FREE Virtual Summer Camp will be held August 17-21 through the GoToMeeting plat...form, with three sessions at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Registration deadline is August 10. All registered will receive a mailed out package with some goodies from the 4-H office (although it may not arrive before camp begins)! Now, you might be wondering, What is Virtual Summer Camp? We will be bringing the fun of camp into your own home, with 4-H activities such as Micro Hiking, Soil Testing, Astronomy, Journey 2050, Talent Show, Dance, Campfire Songs and more! There will be some online sessions, working together with other campers to learn about interesting topics, but others will only require the camper to watch a video and then try to do the activity in their own backyard! If you want to participate but know you won't be able to make it to all the sessions, no problem! Attend as many as you can, from one a day to all of them. Thank you to our Title Sponsor Nutrien for making this program possible. Find the registration form at https://tockify.com/haroldthehare/detail/129/1597644000000

Glenn is Going Green! And Mike Kirzinger is joining in... That is, if we can raise $3,000 in the month of June. If we meet this goal, our Saskatchewan 4-H Coun...cil Board President, Glenn and Director, Mike will dye their hair green. They have been growing it out all spring and we don't want those luscious locks to go to waste, so show your support and donate now at https://www.canadahelps.org//saskatchewan-/p2p/GoingGreen/ Bonus: Every dollar donated through this page will count as an entry into the Great Canadian Giving Challenge, with a grand prize of $20,000! You could help us win this prize! All proceeds will go to The Saskatchewan 4-H Foundation to support 4-H across the province. Your donation will help youth throughout Saskatchewan to Learn To Do By Doing and to become the future leaders of our clubs, our communities, our country, and the world. (We heard Glenn may even shave a clover in the back of his green hair, so don't wait and give now!) Thank you to Ashley for providing us an updated pictures of Glenn's hair!

UPDATE: The 4-H program suspension has been extended to June 15. All in-person 4-H events and activities at the club, district, regional and provincial level m...ust be suspended or postponed until at least June 15, 2020. Person-to-person 4-H activities and events are not allowed and will not be covered by 4-H insurance coverage. Approximately two weeks prior to the suspension deadline, we will reassess. As the situation continues to evolve, it is possible further postponement could be required. Since in-person programming is suspended, we are communicating with 4-H club leaders, giving them support and resources to help clubs complete the 4-H year. 4-H’ers have until August 30, 2020 to complete all member credit requirements. We encourage you to continue to Learn To Do By Doing by figuring out new ways to connect and learn through virtual resources.
