More than 2,500 Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered at Brown's Pharmacy to 2000 different people!!!

The Province of Ontario announced that Ontarians will require proof of vaccination and photo ID when entering certain businesses and settings as of September 22..., 2021. The Bruce County Public Library Library Branches (including Cargill and Walkerton) will print and laminate COVID-19 vaccine receipts free of charge at any of their locations. The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit has been working hard on their plan to distribute vaccines in our area. Currently there are no sign up lists and people will be prioritized based on risk and age group. Feel free to ask our pharmacists if you have any questions or concerns about the vaccines. We will continue to update you as more information becomes available!

We are pleased to let our customers know that we will be opening our front doors Monday, January 11. Although we will still be monitoring numbers in the store, we feel it is important that our customers are able to access the store via the main street. We are still encouraging curbside pickup or delivery when possible, and would prefer that those dropping off new prescriptions leave the store while waiting for their prescription to be prepared. As a reminder, prescriptions c...an be re-ordered online at www.brownspharmacy.ca or through the "Brown's Pharmacy App". If you have a cough or fever, have travelled outside the province in the last 14 days or been in close contact with someone with confirmed COVID-19, we request that you do not come to the store. Attention.... it's the news you have all been waiting for.... our front doors are opening as of Monday morning!!! Finally we have decided to open our front doors to customers. You will be able to enter and exit as normal. While inside, we continue to ask that you sanitize with the provided hand sanitizer, wear your face mask and keep 6 feet between customers. If you do not feel comfortable coming into the store or wearing a mask, we do provide curbside pick-up or home delivery. Pharmacies in Ontario are experiencing an unprecedented demand at this time when filling prescription refills. As the government of Ontario has again allowed a 3 month supply to be filled (when prescription allows, as written), pharmacies and wholesalers have been experiencing many shortages over the last 3 months. To avoid multiple trips to the pharmacy and lessen wait times, please order refills in advance (2 to 3 days, or more if over a weekend). Hopefully the situation will subside by the end of July. Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Doctor Ian Arra, is giving notice of intent to Order the mandatory wearing of face coverings in enclosed public places. Th...e Order will be issued and coming into effect within the next 10 days as per consultation with stakeholders. Public Health has been in ongoing discussion with stakeholders in respect to the details and language of the Order. This will ensure the Order is appropriate and proportionate to the local needs and that it can be implemented in a manner that is practical, equitable, and does not infringe on the rights of people who cannot tolerate facial covering due to medical conditions. Accumulating epidemiological evidence indicates that the widespread use of Face Coverings in public decreases spread of respiratory droplets, and expert opinion supports the widespread use of face coverings to decrease transmission of COVID-19. Wearing of face coverings in enclosed public spaces further reduces the risk of transmission of COVID-19. says Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Ian Arra. It is of critical importance that the use of face coverings does not become a replacement to the current effective practices of physical distancing, handwashing, screening for symptoms among others.
