Also, with the addition of the 1 Day Horsemanship Workshop, we have had some inquiries as what to expect from that workshop. Here is the answer right from Miles: Miles’ teachings are always about eventually riding the horse to the bridle; whether you are in the snaff...le or the hackamore, and this particular workshop is about preparing your horse. Miles will demonstrate how he prepares his horse; this preparation is key; seemingly basic, but so important. You’ll see how, through feel and timing, and learning to release on the feet, that you’ll learn a new way of asking your horse what you need. The feet are everything to the horse, and when you can communicate with the feet, you can begin to understand how to really make a connection with your horse. Miles will break this down into a series of logical steps that your horse will understand easily. He’ll individually address you and your horse’s situation from where you are and from where your horse is. When you learn how to ask your horse, and begin to develop your feel and timing to know when to release on his feet, you horse starts to understand what you are asking. And when you prepare your horse with these methods, you can begin to have a real partnership evolve. Thanks again to Anne Malmberg and Right Lead Equine First Aid for coming out and giving us a demonstration and understanding the importance of first aid and our horses.
