One of the ways in which Bruce gives back to his community is as a race director of three annual running races which are offered at no charge to participants. Yesterday's was the first of the year -- the St. Pats 5K in Lucan, in which 300(ish) participants took part. It was wonderful to see so many people working to keep fit. Spring is officially just a few days away! Next race: The annual Canada Day Half Marathon!

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MP Bev Shipley was on stage with Elgin-Middlesex-London MP Karen Vecchio and moderator St. Thomas mayor (and former MP) Joe Preston at this month's MacDonald Cartier club lunch in London. It was great to hear the perspectives of two well-loved MPs at different stages of their careers!

Bruce was wearing his Lions shirt today at an important announcement by Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton, which will make it easier for small charitable organizations such as Lions, Optimists, Rotary and others to sell their raffle, 50/50 and Chase-the-Ace tickets on-line. This is huge news for charities in the riding and, indeed, across the province! It all started about 5 years ago with a meeting between Lucan Lions members and Monte. It is so nice to see action being taken so quickly after the new PC government got into power just 9 months ago! Thank you SO MUCH Monte!!!
