More than 4.7 million vaccines have been deployed to the Provinces. With millions more on the way, we can expect all Canadians to be vaccinated by 2021.

I am proud to see that Cambridge will be opening our first mass vaccination clinic at the former RONA building on Pinebush Road. This new clinic will be the largest in Waterloo Region. Over 54,500 people have received their first dose in the Region, and with many new immunization stations opening, we will see tens of thousands more in the coming weeks. By the end of March, Canada will have received 8 million doses and 15 million by the end of April.

Our government committed to building 3,000 affordable housing units under the Rapid Housing Initiative. We have exceeded that target and will deliver over 4,700 new homes from coast to coast to coast. Since 2015, we have invested more than $22 billion to provide more than 1 million homes for Canadian families. This is the National Housing Strategy at work.

Region of Waterloo Public Health has the task of vaccinating over 580,000 local residents. This is no small task. Who do you call when you need help? Library staff! I am proud to see Idea Exchange staff working hard to help public health phone seniors and book appointments so that our seniors will get vaccinated as quickly as possible. Thank you for to all the unsung heroes at Public Health on the front lines, and for the hard work of Idea Exchange helping get the job done. https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/library-staff-calling-those-ov

Today is the International Day for Eliminating Violence Against Women. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, has increased. We must all do our part to support the women in our lives, and ensure that they can break free from any violence that they experience. UN Women has provided ten ways that you can take action against violence towards women, https://www.unwomen.org//compilation-take-action-to-help-e

I had the pleasure of meeting with student representatives from University of Waterloo , University of Toronto, University of Manitoba, and uOttawa from the UCRU Undergraduates of Canadian Research Intensive Universities. We spoke about the most pressing issues facing students during COVID-19 and how the federal government can help. Amazing to see the perseverance and focus from so many university students as they adapt and continue to focus on their university studies.

Throwback to a Halloween event my office hosted at the Cambridge Centre mall a few years ago. I loved seeing kids from across our community get dressed up and trick-or-treat at stores around the mall. I can't wait until we can get back to fun events that bring the community together again. Happy Halloween!

Bryan May 23.09.2020

Halloween is a time for spooky fun, but this year we are asking that you adapt to keep our community safe. Health officials at the provincial government are advising against any in-person halloween events and any trick-or-treating. No matter what you do: 1. wear a mask, 2. keep 2 meters distance from others, 3. avoid touching high-contact surfaces, 4. do not have contact with anyone if you have any symptoms.

Canada had the strongest fiscal position in the G7 entering 2020 and maintains that position today, based on net-debt-to-GDP. Our response to COVID-19 has been focused on protecting the health of Canadians but has prioritized our economy as well. We will continue to work towards the recovery of our industries by keeping Canadians working and freeing cash flow for businesses.

Great trip to the pumpkin patch with my family this weekend to grab a pumpkin and enjoy the wonderful fall weather. There are lots of other ways to enjoy the week leading up to Halloween such as the dinosaur drive thru, the light display on the old post office, and our local trails. So get out there and enjoy some of our great fall experiences before winter comes.
