It’s been a very quiet summer without our renters this year, but I can guarantee next year (if we as a country remain healthy) that the fishing will be phenomenal. The lake was very quiet all summer due to tourism being shut down, so the majority of the fish remain in the lake. It’s been many years (20+) since I have seen so many different varieties of minnows, the water as crystal clear as it is, and the weed beds are so unbelievably thick the fish fry will have lots of pl...aces to hide and grow. We always harvest sunfish in the fall, and we weren’t disappointed, however we are very excited for next year. We only fish for pleasure, and keep what we plan to eat through the winter (and are well below our limits every time). As much as it’s been a different kind of year for us and everyone, we are ever hopeful we all remain healthy and can enjoy the summer and fishing together again next year. See more

We are missing seeing all our renters this summer, and know you are all missing being here as well. We’ve had Bald Eagle sighting here before, but I have never had an encounter like this before. I was laying in the hammock watching and listening to the loon on the lake when I heard what I thought was an eagle very close by. I looked up, and he was looking down at me. My heart was pounding with sheer excitement and wonder, I went my asked my son to get my phone off the cha...ir and take a picture. He did one better. He very quietly and slowly climbed up on the roof of the cabin to take this picture. This eagle proudly posed, flew off and caught a fish that ventured too close to the surface. We watched it land across the shore and enjoy his meal. Such a wonderful moment here, but we know you have your own memories of wildlife here. Feel free to share them. See more

My uncle (Harold - also the owner of cabin 3) and his friend Roy spent the morning fishing, quite successfully I might add. The pike weighed in at 8lbs, the two lake trout in at 5lbs, and then there’s the little one. Congratulations to them both. Some great fishing this year!

Beautiful sunset tonight. Pictures don’t even come close to how intensely beautiful it is.

Hi everyone. We have mixed feelings making this post however feel it is for the best. We have decided to remain closed for the rest of the summer. The logistics of disinfecting and ensuring no one gets sick on our property is just something we feel we can’t do at the moment. So to ensure your health, and the ent effigy of our own, we have made this very difficult decision. We were very hopeful we could open, but after receiving a few messages from renters who have tested ...positive for the virus, we feel it’s still just too risky. As a small family run seasonal rental, you can imagine how hard this is on us. We have been looking forward to renting and providing vacation accommodation to whom we deem as friends now. Please know we want you to remain safe and healthy, and will be in touch shortly as to what you would like done with your deposit - whether it be a refund, or transfer to summer 2021. We assure you, we will still be here for next year, and this time will give us some time to work on cabins and property. Thank you for understanding. ~Rebecca
