Design Tip: The entryway of a home sets the tone for what to expect throughout. This area is often overlooked for the impact you can make with intentional, functional design.

Dining Room Makeover! With a few changes, this space has a completely different look. This is an example that you don’t need to replace everything when updating a space!

New Project Reveal! Swipe to see some before photos. This bathroom received a makeover without a renovation! It was once covered in metallic wallpaper, leaving it feeling uninviting and cold. It reminded me of a PRISON CELL! Now it has a mix of materials and is updated for 2020! We are still awaiting the custom window covering... but I wanted to share even before it’s perfect.

WE ARE BACK at this gorgeous house today! To say I’m excited would be an understatement!! We will be transforming the entire main floor! After months of ordering, planning. sketching and dreaming... today is the day! I hope you have a wonderful day as well!

Happy Thanksgiving! If you have not yet adopted a daily gratitude practice, I hope you at least do today. Focusing on what you can be grateful and thankful for, rather than what may be going wrong or lacking... will dramatically change your perspective. I have a post-it in my medicine cabinet that says 5 things I am grateful for today... As I brush my teeth each night, I think about the little things throughout my day, even on the most difficult of days. Search for positives and you WILL find them. Enjoy your day!

I HAVE SEWN CLOTHING FOR CELEBRITIES! As I was repairing a pillow this morning, it occurred to me how invaluable skills can be. I had no idea that learning how to sew by hand, back in grade 5 and later on in a fashion course, would lead to such an opportunity in my life. I have sewn clothing for Axel Rose (Guns N Roses), Gene Simmons (KISS), the members of Rascal Flatts and many Broadway shows, such as Cats and Mamma Mia. All from a LEARNED skill. Life is not always about inn...ate talents that someone may possess. If you look around thinking others have it all figured out and wonder what your purpose is, please keep this in mind: First of all, someone having it all figured out is an illusion and secondly, although it may have started off as a talent or even just an interest it comes down to skill. Life takes learning something new and refining it. What skills are you working on? You never know where it may lead See more

Sometimes in order to appreciate the present... you must glance into the past, to remember just how far you have come.

PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION!! With over 30 years of personalizing a home, it took SO much work to get this market ready. After listing for a week without any prep (see the before photos) there were no calls for showings or any interest. Thanks to our realtor clients that we have worked with in the past, we were called in for a consultation. Even the consultation opportunity was a stretch for homeowners that had no idea what home staging was. From the consultation, we offered to ...stage. It wasn’t an easy sell. We built trust and worked with them compassionately through the month long process. It isn’t easy to move on from your home after so many years. I am happy to say, they have sold and are now much more prepared to move on to their next home. It all needed to be packed up anyways, so we helped move that process forward. Our job as stagers is sometimes a very sensitive one. Not all clients are open to the idea. Some convincing, or a ton in this case, is often needed. This is a happy story of what can happen when we all work together as a team! See more

This is THE GREATEST BOOK I have ever read and the longest!! It was a journey through every difficult experience I have walked through in my life. It’s funny, if you are anything like me, you walk around thinking you know what your problems are. Thinking that you know yourself pretty well Ha! Think again. This is a book that most people won’t read. Why would they? Firstly, the cover is red and orange (if you have seen any of my work, you know what I mean by this). I probabl...y wouldn’t have picked it up myself, had it not been recommended (which I am forever grateful for, thank you Sarah!). Secondly, it could take you weeks or even months to complete this book. SO WHY BOTHER? It will help. Whatever your life looks like today, whatever past you have walked through, whatever hard time you may currently be trying to crawl through; no matter your marital or socioeconomic status this book is for YOU. Most people won’t read this book. Most people won’t even still be reading this post. That’s totally fine. What others do or don’t do is none of my business. I just wanted to share that I read this book. More importantly, I did EVERY SINGLE bit of work throughout it. This book is one that requires uninterrupted time. Although life is busy and demanding, I found and prioritized that time. I hope you can too! See more

CAN WE BE REAL ABOUT MARRIAGE FOR A SECOND? I could write something loving and sweet, but that would not feel authentic. I also would not want to add to the persona that everything on social media is perfect, because that’s complete BS. So here goes Today is my anniversary. Today I am completely different than the person that walked down that aisle 5 years ago. When I look at the photos of myself on that day, I view myself with compassion. I wish I could warn that naïve youn...g woman of the devastating hardship that would soon occur, but I can’tand well, she made it through, so it’s all good. I had no idea the darkness that PTSD could cast on not only the person experiencing it, in what feels like isolation, but the ugliness that pours out onto others closest to them. Somehow, I crawled out of the darkness. I was not alone in the process, although it absolutely felt that way at the time. I had my husband’s support all along. It wasn’t until just recently that we have discussed what his life looked like and felt like during that struggle, when he felt the woman he fell in love with and had married was gone forever. Although we have struggled through recent years with the miscarriage of our third child and the ugliness of PTSD, I am here to say life goes on. We have stayed in this together, which I am so grateful for. I am truthfully surprised some days that we have. With our commitment to each other, we now get to enjoy the personal growth journeys we are on individually, as well as together. We are best friends. We fight and we love wholeheartedly. We are not perfect, but we are us. I am happy to be living this day a much more fulfilled person than I was even on my wedding day, even before the hard stuff. We are stronger together and more resilient because of it. Do the work and love yourself along the way. There is ALWAYS a chance to be better than you were yesterday. See more

Have you ever thought of painting your fireplace?

Design tips for bedrooms: Create zones. Regardless of the size, this is still possible... you may just need to be a bit more creative. A bed area with symmetry on either side to feel balanced... creating a focal wall. A sitting area. A dressing area with a long mirror. A desk area if needed. For tiny kids rooms, consider a loft bed to clear up floor space. The most common mistake I see with bedrooms is having clothing stored in various areas throughout the room. Try to keep your dressers close to your closet, therefore making a dressing zone even if it doesn’t seem obvious. If your closet has an open space under the hanging items, consider putting a small dresser in there. This will make it easier to find everything you need when getting ready for the day. It also makes it much easier to put laundry away too!

Never underestimate the potential of a space! Unfinished spaces are great for storage, but how often do you even know what’s in there?! It could be so much more!

Is your home in need of a reno but lacking the budget? There are ways to make a space feel updated. Paint, area rugs and accessorizing. Whether you are updating your home to sell, like this Home Staging project, or updating your space to love it. It doesn’t need to be expensive. It does however require a plan!
