I received a text from a class member, if you need to hear what people are learning, I have something I can share! This lesson and the notes have taught me a valuable lesson this week, that I needed to hear. This year has been super hard and I’ve awoken to the realization that I’ve been relying on my own strength in life and for the success of my business. It’s left me depleted and discouraged. I have fallen for the lie that trying harder and working longer would get us wh...ere we needed to go, but it’s actually negatively effecting us and our business. My self-focus has distorted the pleasure God intended for our accomplishments. My little tower is crumbling before His greatness, because He won’t let His glory go to another. By His grace He’s shown this to me before everything falls apart. I am the Lord, that is my name. My glory I give to no other, for my praise will not be given to carved idols. Isaiah 42:8 . . Our lesson 7 notes (on the Tower of Babel) went on to say, God’s rightful place is the Sovereign center of life. Jesus be the center! We love hearing what our class members are learning! Betty shares what she is learning about the heart of God The subtle doubt about God’s goodness or distrust of His plans and directions for us can really open up our hearts to walk away farther and farther from Him. However, no matter how far we are from God, God’s desire is to be near to us as He calls out to us, Where are you? . .... God sees Adam/Eve, He meets them in their mess, and He calls to them! ...and He does the same for us. In Genesis 12:7 God appears to Abram, in his faltering faith, and God reminds Him of His promises. Our relationship with God stands secure IN HIM! God knows our weakness and calls us to come. if we are faithless, He remains faithful. 2 Timothy 2:13 ...take the next courageous step of faith, my friend. . . Come and join us! We asked our class members, what have you learned about the heart of God thru Genesis? Angy shares... the thing that’s struck me most about the heart of God, so far in Genesis, is His loving kindness towards mankind, despite how undeserved it is. It’s evident in the beauty He’s provided within the world He created for us, in the way that He demonstrates the value of rest for us, and in always preserving a remnant like He did during the flood, so that ultimate redem...ption can come through Jesus. And there are so many more examples! Seeing these glimpses of His loving kindness is like finding little thoughtful gifts tucked away here and there - and as His child, I’m filled with delight as I stumble upon each one. . . come - join us - and discover the heart of God thru Genesis.
