Occasionally people on the left (e.g. NDP) accuse May or the Greens of being soft on women's rights. All that means is they haven't been paying attention. Notable in these remarks is how Green MPs have improved this pending all-party-supported legislation with specific amendments to broaden the protection of human rights of victims of violence in our legal system to recognize the ongoing oppression of women, transpersons, and BIPOC in response to new awareness of MMIWG and racial/gendered/intersectional violence.
