POOL CLOSURE - Please note that due to a last minute water interruption notice that appeared on Facebook, which will affect Bridgetown Centennial Pool and area on Monday July 10th, we are forced to close the pool for hygiene reasons. This affects swim lessons, public swim, swim team and Aquacize. We regret this inconvenience.

The Fifth Annual Defeat Depression Event will take place on Sunday, May 29th at the Annapolis Royal Farmers Market. Come out and help us defeat depression, a mental illness that afflicts many residents of Annapolis County and impacts upon the lives of so many families in our local community. Participants can take part in a three or a five kilometre walk, a ten kilometre run or a twenty-five kilometre bike ride. Participants can register online or on site Sunday morning from 9... am. All events begin at 10:00 am, with opening ceremonies and warm up beginning at 9:45. Check us out at www.mdsc.akaraisin.com/AnnapolisCounty2016. Monies raised from this event go towards funding a weekly Depression/Mental Health Support Group that meets in Bridgetown. Help us MOVE to Defeat Depression! Come out and participate. If you are unable to come out, sponsor someone who can do it for you! We have a secret agenda. We want to take away the stigma that surrounds mental heath. Too often people suffering from poor mental health feel ashamed of their affliction; whereas, if they were suffering from a physical illness, that same stigma or shame does not happen. Let us raise awareness of this stigma and do what we can to eliminate it. Let us also work towards getting better care for people in our local community who suffer from depression. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get back to me. Feel free to call me at (902) 665-2405. If you have any ideas as to how we can spread the word, all suggestions will be appreciated. Yours truly, Tony Orlando (Annapolis County Branch CMHA Board member) See more
