YUCK!! That’s DISGUSTING!! I can’t stop laughing The goat didn’t finish kidding out the back end of the kid and there was some extra blood. He asked to help. So I told him he could pull the kid and I’d check to make sure everything was okay. The goat and kid were fine, him-not so much

Do you have a bucket list? A bucket list is a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to accomplish in their lifetime I don’t think I have a bucket list. I dream of going on a vacation, driving a new van or an old pickup truck, or even doing a kitchen renovation. But I feel like those are more dreams. ... Something I really really REALLY want to see though, is a hawk swoop down and grab a field mouse or rabbit and soar back up into the sky. It sounds magnificent. Every time we cut our field, I’m always looking for that hawk. Do you have a bucket list? Is there something you want to see or do? Does this mean I have a bucket list?

It’s funny how one can FEEL it quiet. Even though there isn’t a still moment down by the crik. One bird song followed after another, bugs buzzed continually. I asked him if he liked farming, he said yup! I asked him what his favourite part was, he said skid steer rides!

I would say we work good together 95% of the time. I think that’s great. But it could probably be 99% of the time if we had the same hand signals. How many hand signals can there be to say raise the bucket up high?? I only know one, but apparently there is two (I drive the skidsteer and he rides in the bucket and I bring him and whatever else (fans, goats, tools) in the bucket to where he needs to go) ... I’m just thankful if I don’t accidentally dump him out of the bucket But he’s always patient with me as I try understand his hand signals and I’m always the one getting frustrated. Can anyone else relate?

Went to the post office today, or soapoffice as the kids now call it, to drop off a soap order. I accidentally took the youngest in his underwear and his sisters unicorn boots. Oh well it’s a small town and no one will remember

Poisonous Pokeweed There is always something going on around here and the past week is been pokeweed. It burns your skin and is toxic to animals and humans. So far it’s only in the bean field at my parents and some plants around their barnyard and our farm. Some of the plants around the farm were taller then me. So off the men went with backpack sprayers for acres and acres in the hot sun to try kill the pokeweed so the bean crop can make it.

Today I remembered what someone told me along time ago. She said that my farm life seemed to come straight out of a movie and today with the new heifers running through the fences all over the farm it made me think what she said was true. But it wasn’t a good movie. We got hot, sweaty and sunburnt and probably ran a marathon but all 9 heifers are back in their new home.

How are you planting your seeds in 2020? Did we plant with hope? Are we hoping for the perfect soil conditions, warm days, beautiful sunshine and just the right amount of rain? Hoping for the greatest year? Did we plant with faith? ... Faith that even when our crops get scorched by the sun or flooded with downpours, faith that even when it feels like there’s no other way to go we continue on. Faith in God because His plans are the best plans for us, even if we didn’t want to fight though the weeds that were pulling us down, God let them grow to make us even stronger. It feels like a date night when it’s just the two of us milking just had to keep an eye on the crazy kids through the window in the parlour

I remember bringing food out to my grandpa or dad who were out working in the fields. I would tag along for a ride while they ate. Sometimes I was allowed to steer the tractor for them. Every time they would close their eyes and pretend to fall asleep. Every time I would panic as the deep ditch with the little creek would get closer and closer. Even if I knew they weren’t really sleeping I could picture us crashing. My stomach would leave it’s place and climb up into my thro...at, panicking I would call them to wake up. On they slept. But just in time they would open their eyes and turn the tractor, missing whatever obstacle was ahead, with the biggest smile on their face. Yesterday was Moving Day Definition of Moving Day over here is moving animals from one location to another. I’m 101% certain that every farmers wife dreads moving day. And 200% certain that every farmer hates it. Most of the time things go smoothly and we are only exhausted by the end of the day. ... We dread the day because of all the things that could go wrong. 1. The human kids get in the way instead of helping. 2. Moving goats is like trying to move of bunch of little cute kitties (I actually don’t like cats) 3. Animals sometimes panic and hurt themselves 4. They are to stubborn or to friendly and just won’t move 5. Animals don’t speak English 6. Husband and wife working in stressful situations don’t always get along But yesterday moving goats went pretty smooth, the kids helped more then unhelping, some goats got the pets on their head they wanted, one jumped a gate and hurt it’s leg but will be okay and the farmer and I got along and are still happily married

With the warm-cold-warm-freezing weather, the goat kids in the barn have needed a little boost to keep them healthy. I was talking with a friend on the phone and she asked how it was going. I’m not here to use what is happening in the world to my business advantage. Everyone has a loved one that they are praying will not get the virus. But I am going to clear up a few of your comments and thoughts about my soap! Someone made a comment that your soap isn’t good for hand washing and getting rid of germs because it is a good moisturizer. Yes it is a good soft moisturizing soap! But that’s because of my ingredients and how I make it. But it is also soap! Real soap, not detergent like some leading brand names that sell bar soap(Dove for ex). My husband and I were working in the barn. We were both tired and hungry. It was 9:30pm.
