October 15 5:20 p.m.: Although City of Calgary has announced re-energizing at 5:00 a.m., each building must be inspected and cleared for re-entry. We have been in touch with our landlord who has indicated there will be some delay after re-energizing for this inspection and clearance to occur. As a result, our plan to maintain remote desktop until late day and ask staff to return to the office Friday morning remains in place. Please sign-off of remote desktop by 5:00 p.m. Thursday to avoid losing work. For those of you who have copied/saved/signed out Caseware files, DO NOT UPLOAD until you receive further instruction. We must ensure uploading will not cause problems. As Managers/Partners are offsite Friday, this may have to wait until Monday.

Oct 15 3:30 p.m.: Enmax remains confident that power will be restored by noon on Thursday. Rather than ask staff to return then, we ask that you continue to work remotely for the balance of Thursday and then return to the office Friday as usual. We have made arrangements to migrate our server back to the office at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, so remote desktop/terminal server will no longer be available at that time. The migration should be completed by 9:00 p.m. If power is no...t restored Thursday as planned, we will continue to work remotely. In all events, please continue to monitor this feed.

Oct 14 9:45 a.m.: Tip for Caseware to limit server drain: Compress Caseware file and save to your computer desktop. Work on file on your desktop. DO NOT UPLOAD back on to server until further instruction. Email Ben Spademan if you have questions or need help.

October 13 6:45 p.m.: Update Next post will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Terminal server... The remote desktop/terminal server is operable. The system is not designed to accommodate all staff simultaneously. Accordingly, it is important that you get in and out as quickly as possible. If you can work off hours that will aid with speed and efficiency. Likewise, please download to your desktop whatever you can to facilitate your file work. Please use webmail for emailing as opposed to outlook through terminal server. If the system becomes overloaded and too slow we will establish schedules for small groups to use terminal server. Telephone The main switchboard has been redirected and is being answered remotely by Umaiya. Umaiya will email any telephone messages. The fax machine is not operable. Expected return Enmax has announced that provided everything goes according to plan, power should be restored mid day on Thursday. We will keep monitoring and pass on the updates. Oct 13 12:00 p.m.: Our building remains without power. The Partners have accessed the office to disconnect electronic devices, and to retrieve documents and laptop computers for staff.
