**seeking bush nanny and or farm helper*** The definition is flexible. What we have to offer: a comfortable walltent home with basic kitchen, double bed, bear f...ence, outhouse. Shared fridge, freezer, outdoor shower/tub, satellite internet. Garden space, forest space, trails to walk, wild plants to gather. What we’d like in return. Someone to spend time with our five year old a few times a week while we work and/or help with basic farm tasks/manual labour. We live in a remote location, outside of Dawson city Yukon. You need to canoe across the Klondike River to reach our home. Experience with canoes an asset- willingness to learn to paddle necessary. All other relevant experience not necessary- being kind/friendly is. If you’d like to hear more, please message me! We’re open to discussions! (We’d be happy to have a couple, even someone with kid/s.) previous helpers have been able to work in town while helping here a few times a week in exchange for housing. please share with anyone you know who may be a good fit!! A peek at some of our seedlings. We’re committed to reducing our use of plastic. In the five years we’ve been growing we have only bought some heavy duty plastic trays and domes, which we’ve used for five seasons. We reuse a lot of cell packs and containers from friends/family, we repurpose other containers (yogurt, milk cartons, etc.) and use soil blocking. We’ve also trialed paper pots, coir pots, peat pots and some other biodegradable products. Our goal is to expand our use of compressed soil blocks, avoid buying any new plastic, and to find the most sustainable way to raise heathy plants for our family and our community.
