CFD (computational fluid dynamics) is a tool we are utilising to review hull forms and their characteristics in waves. Helping to give better insight into unique features and ideas we create with clients. BYD and CMDL are working with B-Craft in Belgium to build their first Akoya hull. The Direct to Mould build method developed at CMDL is a much quicker way of ...prototyping a concept and it has taken only a matter of weeks to get to join up phase. Although there is still more work to do before the hull is complete, this method overall will save roughly 30% over conventional plug builds. An ideal solution for one off/development projects. #boatbuilding #plugs #innovation #cml #development #prototyping #byd
