LETS MAKE SOME GOOD NEWS! WE WILL BE BLESSING OUR TRUCK DRIVERS WITH COMPLIMENTARY LUNCHES. Crossings Cafe has got permission by the DOT and Environmental Hea...lth to offer complimentary lunches to the truck drivers that enter and exit our province via the Confederation Bridge. Monday, April 6 to Friday, April 10 Crossings will be set up across from the scale house to serve truck drivers a take-on-the-road meal. As you can imagine, it has been difficult to find meals on the road for these truckers. We thought we should do our part. We all need some encouragement and togetherness during this time as well as to spread a little love and good news. A few local business have generously donated already!Cerettis Grocery & Hardware for constant support and funds to purchase sausages, Howatts Shell for propane, Buns from Mrs. Dunsters Inc cheese from @ADL, fries from Cavendish Farms and packaging from Kays Wholesale and Master Packaging with help from Jamie Fox. We also received a deep fryer from Dave ifoodequipment.ca. A big shout out to them! We have also had a few step up with cash donations to purchase sausages. We were told there are 500 trucks that cross the bridge in a 24 hour time frame. WE STILL NEED HELP! THIS IS WHAT WE NEED... - a chip wagon to borrow -funds to purchase bottled water -funds to purchase sausages If you can help or know anyone that can help, please DM the cafe, this would be much appreciated. There are also lots of other ways to help people in need across our beautiful island. If you can, please also donate to the Red Cross or the United Way for other initiatives. Whichever way you want to help, please join us in doing your part.

Good morning all! Ive been reading some articles circulating around social media in regards to the Covid-19 virus being transmitted at fueling stations. Please protect yourselves... wear your gloves and sanitize.

Another emotional morning, again I can not express my gratitude enough to all of the people that have reached out to help our drivers in some way. I am pleased ...to say that I should be able to feed the drivers breakfasts and suppers for free for at least another week or so!! How amazing it that??!! Words can not describe my gratitude for being able to do this The drivers are so grateful as well! Its times like this we really need to be there for each other and I am getting to see first hand how all the kind, caring people just coming out of the wood work!! I just came home for a couple of hours, I will be back cooking free burgers and fries and fish and chips for supper by 4pm today drivers if your in the area someone has bought you supper so please stop in if you can! As always the showers are open when I am on site and Im glad to see many thankful truckers have been able to use our facilities . They have just declared state of emergency in NS so we will have to be even extra cautious. Most of the time we only have 1 to 3 people at most in the building, so we should be okay. See more
