Thank you everyone who attended the General Members Meeting held at the Hudson Bay Lodge. A special thank you to John Noonan for his experience and knowledge to guide the assembly with correct process. We will work hard to present some suggestions for changes to the bylaws that the membership will feel more comfortable to accept.
Notice of General Members Meeting. 7:00 pm Thursday October 2nd at the Hudson Bay Lodge, Ferguson Room. 3521 highway 16 East, Smithers BC This meeting does have motions for resolutions to the bylaws of the BVAIA. If you are a voting member of the association, we encourage you to take the time to review the information sent by mail. Take time to fully understand how these proposed bylaw changes will affect the BVAIA association and all the user groups, clubs and stake holders that are currently under the umbrella of the BVAIA. Consider how do we respect the past 95yrs of a successful society, continue with community spirit and the camaraderie that has built our shared facility and still allow room for growth with respect of the heritage of people gathering together for our fall fair.
September 23, 2014 was the first of many Advisory Panel Meetings. Thank you to all who attended this positive discussion. The objectives of these meetings is to facilitate the user groups, stake holders, BVAIA membership, BVAIA Directors and Town of Smithers (land Owner) an opportunity to discuss, plan, share and most importantly to interact with each other. This communication is vital to the future success of The Bulkley Valley Exhibition Grounds. Our next Advisory panel Meeting is planned for February 24, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Location is TBA.
Thank you to everyone for your help in the success of the Bulkley Valley Exhibition "95 years of Horsing Around" Its the Sponsors, Exhibitors, Volunteers, Participants, and the community who stand behind this event and the association that hosts it. All of YOU make this possible. Traditionally the BVAIA Board of Directors hosts a fall thank you dinner and dance. Last night the Town of Smithers Council and Mayor hosted a Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss the Business Plan and Land use Plan for the fairgrounds, thanks to everyone who came out. The BVAIA is committed to working with all Stakeholders and License Holders of the Fairgrounds and the Town of Smithers to ensure the traditions of the grounds remain strong; while looking to the future and working towards the best use of the grounds for the entire community to enjoy. The best thing you can do is to become a member of the BVAIA to make sure your thoughts are heard. You can join online at http://bvfair.ca/association
