BUMBERSHOUT Encounters at the Kelowna Art Gallery From the Tourism Kelowna website... "Frequency: Recurring daily Time: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Price: $5 Kelowna Art Gallery will be closed December 24, 25, 31, and January 1. Portraiture is an opportunity to observe humanity. By taking a sustained look at ourselves, we are able to examine who we are, reflect on what we’ve become, and consider who we aspire to be. Portraits do not merely record someone’s features but say something about who they are by offering a sense of their inner essence. For this year’s members’ exhibition, the Kelowna Art Gallery invites artists to celebrate the art of portraiture. Members are encouraged to approach this theme through their own artistic practices. All mediums and methods including traditional, abstract and conceptual portraiture are encouraged. By sharing notions of who we are, this exhibition hopes to form a sense of connection and empathy that transcend time and place." Runs from Date: December 26, 2017 - December 30, 2017
