A Buns & Sweets Thanksgiving - a poem T'was the week before thanksgiving and we just couldn't sleep The orders were piling up to neck deep People wanted pies, tarts, buns and breads... So many baked goods, we were in over our heads We started on prep work and made a plan We thought "can we do this?", I think we can! It's going to take lots of 'blood, sweat and tears'* But before we knew it, Thanksgiving was here We rallied the troops to work round the clock To make sure we had everything in stock We made every pie, every tart, bread and bun Even though it was crazy, we kinda had fun Though the hours were long and the ovens were hot Our team stepped it up, we just didn't stop We filled the shelves and then opened the door To the bakery full of goodies galore People lined up from miles away To come in and buy what we baked fresh that day By goodness we did it, we baked everything And near the end we could hear angels sing And here we are, Thanksgiving is done We want to take a moment to thank everyone So to our staff, we want to truly say "Thank You" All this baking we couldn't do it without you To our customers, you're really more like our guest Sharing our baked goods, you're truly the best Without your kindness we wouldn't be here We love you all, I hope that is clear We are so glad you have chosen us for your treats, The best little bakery called "Buns & Sweets" As we close up the shop and turn out the light We wish "Happy Thanksgiving" to all, and to all a good night *please note no actual blood, sweat or tears were used in the making of our baked goods Thank you everyone for making this a very special Thanksgiving. Introducing Rye Day Friday. Join us every friday for some rye bread. Don't hesitate, we don't expect these loaves to last long. Offering light rye, marble rye and caraway rye. If you've given our rye a try, let us know what you think! We are looking for feedback!

I know it's a rainy sunday but we've got you covered, literally. We are still asking for one customer in the store at the time, but we won't make you stand out in the rain. If you're looking for delicious baked goods, we've got you covered there too.

After much deliberation we have decided to change our hours a bit. We are now open Thursday to Monday, 10am to 5pm. Why the change? Doesn't this mean more people in the shop at a time? We are still asking everyone to enter the store one at a time. A good way to expedite the process is to place an order. It gets you in and out of the store quicker.... Giving us a little more time in the mornings will allow us to have all the orders complete and ready to go. It will give us more time to dedicate to the front, making sure everything is clean and sanitized. It will allow us to remain working in the back for longer, reducing the potential cross contamination between customers and your baked goods. We are very diligent in our cleaning procedures, but every little bit helps. We thank everyone for their patience during this time. And a big thank you to all those people who are placing orders, and ordering enough for a week or two. We love seeing your faces, but limiting your trips is a big help in flattening the curve.

We need your help. So this week is Easter, and it's going to be one to remember. We are hoping everyone will be having their own Easter dinners and not travelling to be with friends and family. So we need your help. We have no idea what to bake since this will be an Easter like no other. We are asking everyone to place orders for the items they want. No order is too small. Order if you need bread or buns, pies or tarts, squares or pastries, savoury items or sweets. You can call us 705-292-0929, or send us a facebook message to place your order. There is a good chance that if you don't have an order, we won't have what you're looking for. We will be open Thursday to Monday, 8am to 6pm. That does include Good Friday and Easter Sunday Be safe everyone.

Ladies and Gentlemen, We have decided to remain open for the time being. But you're not essential?! While butter tarts may or may not be essential (depends who you ask) we are committed to providing food to the community. We hope everyone is safe and doing well. We have opted to stay open for the time being, our regular hours. There are a few things we do ask: If you are sick, coughing or just generally not feeling well, please stay home and rest. Quarantine if necessary. ... If you've come back from vacation, or been outside of the country please self quarantine for 2 weeks. We have had a number of customers come in saying they just got back and they know they're supposed to self quarantine. This means staying home and not shopping. Please stay home. Ask friends or family to pick up things for you. We will ask you to leave our store so you don't put anyone at risk. Just because you're feeling fine doesn't mean you aren't infected with the virus We encourage everyone to order ahead so you can come in, pick up your order, and go, to reduce the amount of time spent in our store. We love seeing all your faces, it's just safer this way. We will be doing limited production for the time being. When in the store, please stay back away from the counter and avoid handling any product unless you intend to buy it. Most of our products will be kept behind the counter to avoid contamination. We are trying to do what we can to provide safe service for everyone. If things get out of hand we will have to close our doors. Be safe my friends. We hope to be back to full production as soon as the corona virus is under control.

Good morning everyone. We are back! Delicious baking is going on at Buns & Sweets, and just in time for Polarfest! Pop on in and get some delicious goodies and take a walk through Heritage Park to see the incredible ice carvings. We are back to our regular hours. Thursday to Monday, 8am to 6pm

Thank you everyone for a fantastic 2019. We couldn't have done it without our amazing guests (that's you!). We are closed until the end of the month and while I would like to say it will be a lot of rest and relaxation, my list of things to do is growing ever longer. The most exciting thing is working on new recipes for 2020! We have big plans for the year! Stay tuned on our facebook and instagram as we will have more info coming soon.
