With covid-19 concerns rising once again, we’re working harder than ever here to create an environment where both our clients and stylists feel secure in our space. Here’s what we’re doing right now! Beginning Tuesday, November 10th we will begin mandatory pre-screenings before all appointments. You’ll receive a Google Form questionnaire via SMS at least an hour before your appointment. We are still so stoked about our partnership with The High End Hippie Wellness. As many of you know by now, finding new cruelty-free products is our passion at Burke Hair Lounge - and we’ve really found our new obsession this time! Amy first reached out to us before COVID and explained her goal: to make safe, non-toxic personal care products that can outperform the best professional brands. Needless to say, we were instantly hooked on the idea. The High End Hippie’s shampoo ...and conditioner bars are the perfect choice for those of you who love clean beauty, are worried about your hair health, or for anyone who just doesn’t like the clutter of shampoo bottles in their shower! We fully expect these to fly off the shelves, as our salon is currently downtown Kelowna’s ONLY supplier of these locally made treasures. Make sure to stop by and check them out next time you’re in the area, or ask your stylist for sample during your appointment. Just don’t blame us if you never go back to your old products It’s so comforting to know that not only do these bars work like a charm, but you can rest assured knowing that when you use them, you’re not harming our planet or our furry friends! Clients, We truly feel so lucky to have had all of you as our support system these past years. We’re deeply grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you so much for supporting local and for choosing cruelty-free beauty! With that being said, we’d like to address a few things and ask that you take a few seconds out of your day to read below.... First of all, we have a new phone number! We’ll be answering your text messages and calls Monday-Friday at (250) 258 - 4247. We strongly recommend that you contact us through the salon phone for appointment requests and any questions you have going forward instead of texting your stylist directly. This will allow for a well-deserved separation between their home and work lives. Secondly, due to the ongoing COVID discussion in the Okanagan, we’d like to assure you that we continue to take our sanitization protocols very seriously. We are operating in accordance with WorkSafe BC’s guidelines and will update our procedures as they update theirs. Our chairs and stations are socially distanced, and we’ve added plexiglass between the sinks so that everyone can feel comfortable and safe when they visit our salon. As a refresher: we ask that you arrive ON TIME to your appointment so that there’s enough time to properly sanitize each station and our tools. If you do happen to arrive early, you’re more than welcome to wait outside in our patio area - we’re temporarily unable to offer use of our indoor waiting area. As masks aren’t mandatory for salons in British Columbia, we’re leaving it up to you. If you’d like your stylist to wear a mask during your appointment, all we ask is that you let us know ahead of time. We’ll be more than happy to comply! Unfortunately we’re not able to serve food or beverages inside the salon right now, so please bring a water bottle with you if you feel you’ll need it.
