Happy Friday Fellow Babies, Well I hope you all had a good week, I wanted to show you this 1993 Korean Made Telecaster that I just gave a good Burleskacising for my new client Matt Jumpsen. Matt wanted to install a fresh set of pickups and needed it modified to install a Humbucker in the neck position, and as you can see this guitar was in need of a good fret dressfirst time it’s been done since Matt purchased it way back whencan you tell? Started off with disassembling th...e guitar, prepping the body for routing with a tape off and bag to cover the body (shopping bags work great for a quick cover if you’re not painting), routed out the neck pickup pocket and drilled recesses for pickup screws. Then I modified the pickgaurd for a new Seymour Duncan Seth Lover Humbucker pickup and made it a matte finish. A full flip around and refresh of the electronics, new DiMarzio 250K pots, new Blu-Voodoo cap on the tone, and a new 4 point Pure tone jack for maximum contact, rewired and ran double ground from sleeve to all points on controls as well as regular grounds ( so its double grounded ) and installed the new Seymour Duncan Quarter pound pickup in the bridge. Then came the hard partthe frets, these were in rough shape but by taking a few extra steps I can get them back in shape, I have had 100’s of clients bring me guitars being told or thinking they need a re-fret but with some extra Burlesking I can get em back in shape for at least one maybe two more rounds on the bench down the road, but you have to keep an eye on them, when they start to pit you should get them doneit’s like putting oil in a car engineif you don’t do it regularly and keep it fresh you’re going to have problems. I can’t say this enough your FRETS are the most important part of your guitar and in 90% of the cases with buzzing, dead notes, and shitty playability the frets are the issue. Once I got the frets done I put this beast back together and did the voodoo that I do to make this thing rip and by God this beautifious creature does. This is one amazing guitar take a good look at the two piece body and the Birdseye in the neck...MAGIC! Can’t thank you enough Matt for the chance to take a good look at this awesome guitar and get it the way you wanted it, you are a fine young man with a really nice Tele if I do say so myself. Good Morning Fellow Babies, Wanted to show you this 1999 Gibson SG I just re-fretted and Burleskacised for my client Stephen Pratt. Stephen bought this guitar new in 99’ and was needing a re-fret for two reasons, one he is allergic to Nickel ,which frets are made mostly of and two there worn down pretty good on the upper register and everywhere to justify it.
