RIP Bob "Long Ball" Hall One of the really great guys from our Softboys history passed away last weekend at the Carpenter Hospice. Bob Hall introduced me to this group well over 25 years ago and I had the pleasure of playing with him for at least 10 of those years. A driving force behind anything he took on Bob was a fixture behind the plate in the early years and not only played well, but he was also the kind of guy who would do anything for you. Great sense of humor and wi...th his sharp barbs stood out amongst the rest. Did a term as the Commissioner for the Softboys, ran Fred Hall and Son in the Hammer huge supporter of local Charities including the Burlington YMCA and others. Bob was also instrumental n the organization of the Softboys 50th Reunion a few years ago. We will really miss him and on behalf of the Softboys extend our sincere condolences to his wife Pam, his sons Mike & John and the rest of the Hall Family. Arrangements have been made with a private Family Service however a Celebration of Bobs Life will take place in May and when the date is available you will know. Sincerely The Commish

ATTENTION CAPTAINS AND PLAYERS: Couple of things - we have got a number of new guys that will come full time with us this year and we have padded the rosters for the summer time when we are hurting for bodies and beyond we should be in good shape this year. - Mark Zega is returning from the Hammer which is good news!... - Mark McLauchlin from Senior Lofty Management ranks of Jack Astors is coming back - Mark recorded his first hit in his rookie year didnt he... probably off me. - Dont forget the equipment for the Opening Night I have the balls - Glen do you want to pick up a dozen from Corbetts and I will knock it off the registration fee - Rob Wills is back and driving by himself me thinks - Lou Politti is back and say his arm is OK - meeting Scottie at 1:00 p.m. at Jakes on Opening Day - Frank the Umpire is back spoke to him the other night - he is ready to roll tells me he is seeing the heater much better this year - The Draft will be interesting with all of the rookie content and our complete ignorance of their abilities - just a crap shoot....example Jeff Beck last year who would have known he could play something other than the guitar LOL - Hoops has gone to the spare list and as well Lucas Neilson for now ( family commitments) but if either of these guys can commit to full time before the Draft let me know as there will always be room. Chipper you are in the same boat sort of (spare list)not quite as valuable as those guys though me thinks - swooooosh! - Tuff 2 is back and on the stats so that will be fun and challenging all at the same time at least he will keep them up to date - Check our Facebook page - the Softboys FB page is all up to date with the news of Dr.Sean McDonough making the Sports Hall of Fame .Friend and Share the page!
