So, trying my hand at roasting my own barley for my Irish Red Ale that's slated to be brewed tomorrow. (That my ale yeast being proofed just behind...) It's brewin' and barbecue'n weather folks! Woot!

So, finally some reprieve from winter... It's gonna warm up for the next couple days. Need to clean out my snowblower's carb, THEN - maybe do an all-grain batch. An Irish red perhaps?

Is it August already? Wow... summer's going fast. Well, I just finished batch number 184 - "Bikini Special", a cream ale which is my favourite beer for hot weather. Should be ready in a couple weeks. The last batch (183) was the same recipe, and it's tasting mighty good!

Yes, it's been a while since my last beer related post, but that's thanks to winter when I only brew kit beers. BUT - tomorrow's weather just might be favourable enough to do my first all-grain batch of the season. Guess what recipe... YUP, you're right - White Moustache! My go-to brew everyone loves. I'm adding in an ingredient to make it gluten-free for wider appeal. I'll keep you posted on its progress.

Summer and fall have vanished into thin air... THAT means making beer from kits, which means a one hour brew day instead of six. The drawback? Not as much control over the recipe. Still tastes great though!
