Girl Guide Cookies ice cream is now available in pints! Yes, you heard that right... GIRL GUIDE COOKIES! We chop up chocolatey mint Girl Guide Cookies and layer them into our creamy dark chocolate base. Satisfy your chocolate craving and help us support our local Girl Guides while doing so!

Our pastry chefs have been hard at work creating this year’s holiday macaron flavour lineup! We’ve brought back some of your favourites (oh hey there Turtles!) and have also invented some new delicious flavours (hellooooo Cinnamon French Toast!) Treat yourself to a nine-piece box and give them a try. We’re open Thursday 12pm-6pm.

Carrot Cake ice cream is BACK in pints and scoops! We bake two full carrot cakes for this ice cream flavour - one we blend into the ice cream base and the other we chop up and layer in as chunks. We then drizzle it with ripples of cream cheese icing. This is one of our most popular flavours of all time so make sure you come in and enjoy some while it’s here! We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Back in pints by very popular demand... It's zesty.. It's refreshing.... It's stripey...... It's TIGER TAIL! We put our twist on this classic flavour by using blood orange and ribbons of star anise swirled throughout. We hope you'll come in and give it a try!

'Tis the season to treat your neighbours, teachers, co-workers and loved ones to a little treat! We're all stocked up with wooden tokens in three varieties: Single scoop cone, Ice cream pint and Twelve-piece macaron box. They are redeemed exactly like a gift card and can be purchased in-shop or through our online store. Today, we honour and remember those who have sacrificed so selflessly for our freedom, including the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit people who served in the military, and all of the folks who continue to serve today. Our Red Wine and Poached Pear macarons are rich and delicious, with wine from our friends at Alderlea Vineyard in the Cowichan Valley. 'Tis the season for a scoop of Pumpkin Spiced Caramel ice cream topped with a freshly baked Sweet Potato Pie macaron! Our Pumpkin Spiced Caramel ice cream is made with fresh pumpkins from McNab's Produce Farm and is drizzled with our decadent spiced caramel sauce, with hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Today we wear orange to honour the First Nation, Inuit and Métis children who were ripped out of their communities and forced into the residential school system as recently as 1996. Today we recognize the children who made it home and the many children who did not. Today we acknowledge their families and descendants that continue to be affected by this genocide. We recognize that a lot more work needs to be done in the spirit of reconciliation. Leading up to Orange Shirt Day on September 30th, 100% of the sales from our new Orange Creamsicle macarons will be donated to the Nanaimo Aboriginal Centre to assist with programs and services for children, youth and families. Hey caramel lovers! There's a double dose of caramel waiting for you in our Whiskey Salted Caramel ice cream! We make the salted caramel base with a dry caramel sauce, which gives it a rich, robust flavour. We then cook a homemade whiskey caramel sauce with local Single Malt Whiskey from Arbutus Distillery and layer it throughout. We are excited to be collecting school supplies for Fresh Start: Back to school all weekend long! With donations from our community, Fresh Start provides backpacks filled with school supplies to kids (k-12) in the Nanaimo area - and they are in need of extra help this year! Fresh Start: Back to school provides backpacks filled with school supplies to kids in the Nanaimo area. They have 186 families (so far) signed up to receive backpacks, and are very low on donations this year. If you can, please consider donating cash, backpacks, school supplies, face masks, hand sanitizer, lunch kits, water bottles, gift certificates to any local hair salon or barbershop, etc. Even just dropping off a pack of markers helps. Have you met Michaela!? She’s the friendly face that greets you at our window over the weekend! Michaela is on the road to becoming an elementary school teacher and is about to start her fifth and final year of her Bachelor of Education at Vancouver Island University. She’s known that she wanted to be a teacher since she was five - it even says so in her kindergarten yearbook! Michaela’s working hard at school learning how to best support all children, especially thos...e facing anxiety or other challenges. Growing up, she had a lot of really great teachers and is looking forward to having the same positive impact on the kids that she teaches. In addition to working at Burnt Honey, Michaela is a nanny five days a week to a group of wonderful kids who remind her to keep being funny and silly. She loves spending time with children because they help her to stay in the moment. She also worked as an au pair in England for three months over the summer of 2019. Michaela has traveled to Scotland, Ireland, Spain and Florida - where a crow got stuck in her hair. Michaela lights up any room that she walks into and has us laughing every shift, while also keeping us up to date on the latest trends and sayings. We’re grateful to know such a kind, caring and hardworking human and we’re very proud to have her on our team! See more
