Difference between happiness and inner peace? Happiness depends on the situations and general conditions of our lives being perceived as positive (with our hopes and expectations met); inner peace has no superficial ‘external’ requirements. All that Inner peace requires is a heart-felt gratitude and deep appreciation for life. Not all people have this which is why not all people know inner peace.
Merry Christmas to everyone out there. Unfortunately we will remain closed until the Pandemic is over or the vaccine is readily available. All our wishes and prayers are with you during this period. Our phone lines remain on if any one needs to talk at any time we are here. Remember your loved and we are here for you.
Did you know that dishonesty isn’t always about telling lies? Sometimes dishonesty is remaining silent when we have the opportunity to speak up.
The only thing we have complete control over in life is how we choose to respond to the situations and circumstances we face. Many people become bitter in life when things don’t work out in the ways they had hoped for. But we can let go of bitterness when we make peace with the fact that there are many aspects of life that we do not have control over and instead choose to appreciate life for what it is.
Yes, we are open conditionally. This means we are only keeping a limited number of current students; maintaining the same group of people in order to keep everyone safe. Once Phase 4 opens up we will be re-locating to our new location and taking on new students. During this period we have not been charging for classes to give back to our community and help keep positive thoughts and actions going forward.
When we have absolute clarity about what we want and when we want to have accomplished our goals by, the next two disciplines we need to master are focus and concentration. There are endless things we can focus on each day, but usually only one or two things we really need to concentrate on - and so get it done. If you’d benefit from being a bit more productive today, try focusing on JUST ONE THING, and concentrating on doing your best untill it's done.... Discipline and hard work is the bridge between hoping for something to happen, and something actually happening.
Wisdom is the ability to think and act using an effective blend of knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense and insight. Wisdom is often associated with those whose character attributes include unbiased judgment, compassion, self-knowledge, self-awareness, a tonne of life experience, and non-attachment (ie. being need-free of both people and things). Wisdom isn’t a virtue that we’re born with, but instead, is something we can only acquire over time, through hard work and lots of experience.
‘Treat other people as you would like to be treated’ - this is a common phrase that people use, but some do not operate out of this standard in their own lives. One of the most helpful self-reflection exercises we can carry out is to consider how we’re being received by other people and in what ways we can treat others with a greater degree of honour.
When we make excuses to justify our actions and behaviour we end up going round in circles and changing nothing about the things in our lives that frustrate us the most. It’s only when we take responsibility for the part we’re playing in getting our current outcomes in life that we start taking decisive action towards those things that we want.
