I did something last evening I haven't done in a long time. I picked up my camera and went to a concert. Some of you don't know, but I used to photograph lots of events and concerts.
It is great to see a province-wide FireSmart initiative underway, this was a recommendation in our Cariboo-Chilcotin Wildfire Report in 2018 and eventually in larger provincial report. I hear of people being concerned and taking action. I see brush being burnt to remove fuels. With the climate shifting, any and all measures must be considered. Very happy to see one program which can save many homes with this profile. Everyone living in or near forested areas can FireSmart, many actions are your labour or better choices for building materials to garden materials.
Tips from our experience during the 2017 (and 2018) wildfires.
Huge news if true. This will have a large impact on how people use these media.
We just wrapped up a social media campaign that resulted in a 36% increase in sales over last year's campaign which garnered had earned a 22% increase. Reach is only a vanity metric, sales are what matter.
Was honoured to join my communications colleagues Emily Epp and Mike McCulley for a panel on disaster communications and consultations at The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) national conference in Charlottetown in May 2018. A little over a month later, we were back in the same roles for another record-breaking BC wildfire season.
