Artisan moment from the studio. Making paint to me is a whole lot more then just great paints. They need to feel good from start to finish. Always sounds of soft music play, happy colours mingle on a beautiful crisp clean marble stage. When those paints ship out I want all our good vibes to go with them. Folks ask how I maintain consistency...... I keep recipe book upon recipe book, single colours, palette collection colours..it's kinda consuming in a delightful way. I test each batch against prior swatch cards. The old accounting person in me likes good records

It's the special little touches and extra thought. Our cap paint sets come in hinged metal tins with magnetic bases, perfect for these caps. I like to slid the caps in so one side lies below the next for painting stability. One perk to the caps over a half pan is the wider area to work your brush in and the sides are nice and smooth to glide excess paint off. Each set comes with a laminated colour name card which goes on top of the paints. (These can also be used as a ...side mini palette if you need it in a pinch). Then on-top the laminated card...a few mini pieces of 100% watercolour paper with our bookmark info sheet wrapped around it. We figure it's nice to to some swatch cards and get to know your colours (or a cute mini painting). We hand paint that little circle colour card and stamp it with some butterflies so you can see the how the paint is contrasted between the white and black. And well it's just pretty. . . . #handmadewatercolours #thoughtful #artisanwatercolours #loveeverybitofit #qualitypaint #madewithpride #paintitbeautiful #madeincanada #watercolourpainting #learntopaint #usetherightstuff #paintingsucess #naturalpaints #iloveart #highquality #handmadewatercolor #artisanwatercolors #takeonpg #tourismpg #supportpg #lovenorthernbc #shoplocal #shopnorthernbc #shopcanada See more

The All Natural palette was just released. 5 capfuls of natural earth paints ethically harvested from rock deposits, refined and transfixed in our signature binder. Zero filler. Now there are a variety of pigments out there, those from the earth, synthetic ones created by fusing two components under high heat and even ones made under pressure. Some are chemically induced. Most bright colours are engineered. In all of these there are degrees of lightfastness, meaning they... resist fading over time. I'm a sucker for the best ingredients and like to ride that line between all of them depending on their paint quality. Course I do favour natural pigments; I think it's just incredible that colour can come from the land with the least amount of interference or change to their properties.
