It is with great sadness that we announce the Butterfly Run 2020 will be postponed. Due to the challenging times and uncertainty, we are unsure if or when the 2020 run will be rescheduled. Registration is now open Have you ever started a project and it exploded into something you never imagined? How the task of completing it seemed overwhelming? Well we have, and that project was The Butterfly Run . The first year we started we had a couple of small goals. Raise some money, make some kits and help families experiencing loss feel less alone. ... What we got was beyond our wildest dream. Hundreds of thousands of dollars raised. Hundreds of families helped. Like-minded runs started across the country. We are grateful, beyond grateful for the support our community has provided. We are truly grateful, but this year we are getting back to basics. The entirety of the run has been executed by three women and our families (and some amazing volunteers). Three women with young kids at home and three women that work full time. When we embarked on bringing back the run this year we started full of vigour but with the outside demands of life, we simply became worn down. And if we are being completely honest, worn down to the point of almost cancelling the event this year. But then something amazing happened, when we were about to throw in the towel we couldn’t. We knew how important this event is to our community so we are back. We are sorry the registration took so long to open. We are sorry for tardy responses and inquiries. But we are back and we are moving forward with the event with some major changes to make it doable for us. This year the run: - Will not be a timed event - Will only be a family walk and 5 km walk/run We are going back to the beginning. To the reason we started the event.
