Karen, the charming proprietor of the gallery invited me to bring what would have been my Muskoka show display up to the gallery as part of a weekend of special programing. I will have a great selection of my studio line, including lamps and canister sets and kitchenware for the cottage or gifts. I will also bring a selection of my Persian Lustreware made this spring during the lock-down. I had amazing luck with the spring lustre firings, and the results are stunning, rare and collectable. The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery is hosting their annual Gala on March 28. I am a big supporter of the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, it is an important in...stitution in the lives of Ceramic and Glass artists in Canada. This is a fun evening, on the theme of Paris 1920. There are wonderful opportunities for corporate sponsorship, with many benefits, you can contact the Director Denis Longchamps for more information. They are planning entertainment, an auction of fantastic works in clay and glass, activities where you can make pieces in both clay and glass, four food stations preparing French cuisine, it's a wonderful evening for a great cause. The Event is held in the galleries, in between exhibitions, but if you are in the area BEFORE the gala, the current four exhibitions are really beautiful, one on the topic of collecting with selections from the collections of four notable collectors, a massive exhibition on public works in Glass, an exhibition of new work in Raku by Carol Rossman, working with an emerging curator, and an exhibition of 3-D printed architectural ceramics by the Architecture Department of the University of Waterloo. Just one week until Christmas!

December 17, One week left before Christmas. I unloaded the final firing of the year this past weekend. There were lots of special orders for Christmas and a ...lot of the larger and more individual pieces pieces in this final kiln firing. Here is a selection of some of the pieces in the showroom. The landing on the stairs in my studio makes a nice backdrop for a quick photo with the stone wall in the background. The final photo is this morning, with a perfect dusting of snow, the house and studio looks like a Christmas card. I am open each day until December 23 from 10 - 5 for those of you in the area, for the rest of you, there is still time to ship until about December 20. All the best of the season, Scott See more
